Location; staff; just a beautiful hotel
Nothing negative
The beds were incredibly comfortable, and I personally loved how soft and non-scratchy the sheets were!! Some hotels have the nastiest, most stiff fabrics but these were genuinely so comfy. We got a king suite, and it was wonderful. The shower was very nice, and I enjoyed the generous amount of soap/shampoo provided. The towels were just stiff enough to be exfoliating and refreshing! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the valets especially did a wonderful job. We never had a valet service before, but they explained all of our questions so patiently (and even brought us our charger when we forgot it in the car lol). They held doors for us, grabbed luggage - honestly were so helpful that I felt like royalty! And when I got proposed to during the trip, the staff was so excited and seemed happy for me! The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful, and though I was a little unwell and couldn't go to the pool, the photos of it were lovely. It's an aesthetic dream, honestly, and it's a fun way to feel 'fancy' for a weekend. A BIG BONUS: every time I had previously booked with a third-party booking app/website, the hotel would lose the amount I paid and I would have to pay extra, or show them a receipt and try to have them find where I paid. This hotel didn't do that!! It was very organized and they were clearly expecting our arrival. We paid at the hotel itself which, for this reason, I enjoyed. I knew from the start that this hotel was a little, to be honest, out of my tax bracket (lol), but the young front desk lady was SO nice and non-judgmental, explaining what the incident deposit was for, etc. She could have totally snickered at the poor hillbilly worried about the cost, but she was very understanding and didn't make me feel bad.
I didn't see that there was a 200-250$ security deposit anywhere online, and it wasn't on Booking.com (I used this to get the room). I don't mind a deposit at all, but it stressed me out due to the fact that I had budgeted for what I thought was the final expense. If I hadn't saved extra, we would probably have been unable to stay. On the subject of price transparency, I really wasn't clear on what was provided, and what was an extra paid service. I would have loved to try the Nespresso machine at the room, but I didn't want to pay if it had a fee. I knew the bar in-room had prices, and I don't drink alcohol so it wasn't a problem (Though the prices were ... steep). We didn't eat breakfast or any meals in the actual hotel itself, not only because dinner was very pricey, but also because we couldn't tell if breakfast was included. A good chunk of the trip was partially spend stressing about hidden fees, and I still am unsure if we're getting the deposit back or not. I sort of almost wish there had been an option to maybe remove the in-room bar at our request, but it was no big deal. The TVs definitely uses frame interpolation, which is supposed to be to make motion smoother, but it was a bit uncanny and gave me a headache.
New
Clean
Loved the motion lights under the bed
Up to date rooms and bathrooms
Decent amount of street noise when trying to go to sleep
The food was great at the restaurant. Room itself was nice.
Pool was closed, hot tub was closed even though I called ahead and specifically chose this hotel for those amenities. When we asked the staff to find another Hilton property for my kids to swim they were extremely unhelpful. Also the pictures of people with horse heads everywhere are weird.
Lovely new property. Lobby and rooftop bars excellent. Very friendly staff and convenient location. Chamber maid service was a little slow but will definitely stay here on our next trip.
Not welcoming by any staff. Barely acknowledged by front desk, manager, or concierge almost every time I came into the hotel. The weekend club upstairs on the roof,6th floor, which bumped thecno music was heard all the way on the 4th floor. I was laughed at by front desk when I called to inquire why with no concern for the guests who are there to sleep at night. The club goes till midnight. No one could answer where or when the complimentary shuttle was available. No assistance was offerd from valet while loading or unloading car with luggage and golf bag every time I got my car. Not enough storage available in room for clothes. One drawer half taken up by a safe. The impractical "Chiller", not a fridge in room only held a temp for possibly wine or beer, couldn't handle any food storage. The tablet in the room that's supposed to offer information said the menu coming, yet offers room service and other possible info to no avail. Extended my stay by one night on a Tuesday with an increase of 150$ with no explainable reason why. No one who works there seemed to know what events or conventions were in town, possibly informing guests as to why costs and business was the way it was. I was condescended to by the bar when I ordered an espresso martini, saying that at least it's in a "cute" glass, a coupe. This place isn't a luxury hotel.
