All the staff were welcoming and friendly.
Everything was fantastic, and the restaurant/bar a lovely space. We had lunch and dinner.
The breakfast menu was amazing, huge choice and delicious.
Being woken up just after 7am by maintenance banging something!
Beautiful hotel with amazing food! I love that they left a teacup and saucer with tea biscuits in our room for every morning! The decor was lovely and the entire staff was so friendly. We ended up eating at the restaurant downstairs several times because the food was so good. I love that they serve you a cute tiny shortbread with your tea or coffee! Such a great location too because it was walking distance into town without being right in the thick of it. We thought we would be Ubering into town, but we walked in just about every single day. Also right across the street from a gorgeous park. Next time we come to Edinburgh, we will be staying here again!
I did book a queen bed and it seems like we got a full size bed, but I suspect that was an error through booking.com and not the hotel itself. Next time, I would not use this website and I would book directly through the hotel.
dinner. steak pie excellent.
We had to change room on arrival as the bathroom had a dreadful smell. But fair play to the team, they handled this well as reassigned us to a good room.

Met by lovely member of staff and looked after. Location is brilliant for my business visit in Marchmont.
Room was super looking out to my car and park.

The communication with the team beforehand was great, so helpful. I love the decor and our room was stunnning .
The breakfast was delicious and the hotel is in a great place.
The noise on a night , it was so loud in our room. The music was banging from the bar and we could hear conversations and shouting from bar guests both inside and outside of the property. The heavy beats of the music vibrated through both our rooms and meant I couldn’t sleep u til it finished at 12. My body clock is such that I sleep early 9pm and wake early 5am so this meant my sleep wasn’t great.
L’espace , la décoration , les chambres, le personnel
Chambre sur la rue un peu bruyante
Location is primo.
Local vibes.
The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean.
The bar restaurant customers take precedence so you can’t even get a table to sit outside unless you book a meal. The noise on a weekend is significant from the bar customers. The priority is made clear; we had to get around a coat rack that was left in front of the door to the rooms to go to bed. The bed was so uncomfortable I ended up trying to sleep on the floor at one point. There is no actual reception so you are never sure who you should talk to. The decor in the rooms is a bit tatty, between the weird framed pictures of semi naked women everywhere and the aged bathroom decor (with bits of adhesive left stuck on the wall) it doesn’t feel like a high quality hotel. After a day of tromping around Edinburgh city you don’t have anywhere chilled to relax as the bar gets totally slammed on the weekend. The staff are friendly and competent which is the best thing about the hotel. Overall I think the rooms are best for people who have drunk too much and need somewhere to crash.
