A lovely hotel- just swap the single beds pushed together for a king size & it would be spot on.
Pros:

Lovely location. Room was clean & cosy. Other guests quiet. Nice breakfast room!

Cons:

Only the bed- two singles pushed together with the consequent dip in the middle. Not ideal for a comfy nights sleep if you want to cuddle a partner.
I was expecting a double bed. I understand the need for hotels with limited rooms to have flexibility in sleeping arrangements- but 2 singles didn’t quite cut it- especially at this price point.

Pros:

Great location, secure parking. Comfy bed and great shower. Amazing breakfast in café next door. Beautiful surrounds, the canal basin with its live-on boats is quite picturesque. Lovely walks straight from the door.

A fabulous building in a unique location.
Pros:

The location was super- hidden away in the basin with the canal and boats right outside. The building was tastefully decorated and the room had lovely views. We both thought the bed was very comfortable and the details such as quality shower gel and the coffee machine were much appreciated. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Like visiting a trusted relative.
Pros:

The location. The ease of entry at a time that suited us. The comfortable room. The price. It was our second time staying there, and just as lovely as before. It’s also nice to meet other guests and pass some time if it suits you .

Besonderes Hotel, tolle Lage, hundefreundlich
Pros:

Wir haben das Custom House für eine Übernachtung auf der Durchreise gebucht. Wir waren sehr positiv überrascht von der tollen Lage am Kanal und dem wunderschön renovierten Haus. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, alles ist sehr hochwertig.
Am besten hat uns die geräumige Küche/Wohnzimmer gefallen. Es gibt einen grossen Tisch, an dem die Gäste zusammen sitzen können und sogar für das Frühstück ist gesorgt. Die Gastgeber stellen eine Auswahl an Broten, Butter, Marmeladen, Müslis und Kaffee/Tee zur Verfügung; man kann auch seine eigenen Lebensmittel im Kühlschrank unterbringen und kochen.
Das Custom House ist hundefreundlich; Möglichkeiten zum Spazierengehen gibt es genug. Das Auto kann sicher geparkt werden.

Canal side Custom House
Pros:

We loved the location by the canal. Very peaceful and calm. The lounge/kitchen area serves very well. Loved the furniture. Bedroom nicely decorated with a comfy bed and bathroom has all you need. We had bagels and coffee in the morning in the communal area which was nice. Good choice of breads/bagels. Jam and butter in the fridge.

Cons:

A little tired in areas. It's such a nice house, so give it all the attention it deserves.
We didn't meet any staff or owners. The dog bed wasn't in the room.
