Average. Nice location. Bar area inside nice. Large room.
Beer garden more of a terrace with worn out furniture.
Room was large but stained carpet, no bottled water left in room.
Evening meal was at average. Breakfast poor, cooked items were dry, croissants dry.
The Hotel location and facilities are fine.
There are 'rules' in place which the staff are inflexible about; for example the time one is allowed to book to sit for breakfast. I was deeply upset by the manner in which I was permitted to choose my sitting. I was asked when I thought I might want to join which I gave as 07:15, this was rebuffed rudely and I was told I could choose 07:00 or 07:20. That's how it's done here!!
I then made the serious mistake the following evening by not booking a time for dinner, and when I arrived at the dining room I was again 'told off' and rather than being asked politely to wait until a table could be made available, I was rudely told to go away for half an hour. This was while standing in a deserted dining room. When I was permitted to take my table it was located in another adjacent room, with a view of several empty tables that didn't fill during the time I ate.
My room was located in the very top of the Hotel and, I felt, was seriously in need of refurbishment. The bathroom seemed to be clean but the shower cubicle was very small and was 'sealed' with an ill fitting, unpleasantly smelling nylon curtain. There was a rather poorly written, and rude, notice about the towels and room cleaning; to the effect that it was not the Hotel's intention to clean the room nor replace towels or change the bed during my stay. Incidentally four nights duration.
These events have made me ensure never to return to this Hotel and I would, if asked, say exactly what I found.

My 7 year old daughter has celiac disease and staff went out of their way to accomodate her at dinner and breakfast service, there was evem sticky toffee pudding gluten free and safe for her to eat.
The bed was too hard and didn't get a good nights sleep.
