The location is right in the centre, the hotel staff were very nice and welcoming considering we booked it just 15mins before arriving. The hotel was beautiful and so modern. We loved the breakfast too.
I had requested double bed, but we only got 2 twin beds - it wasnt a major set back, but the receptionist told me she checked and we would be given a double bed. I didnt mention anything as after 12 hours stay at the airport all we wanted was to rest and relax.

The pillows was very hard and not comfortable at all, even my daughter has a very bad pain, we asked for another pillows and they said, we don't have another one.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Mercure Ponta Delgada, and everything was superb! The rooms are extremely clean, modern, and comfortable, and the location is perfect.
I want to extend a huge thank you to the entire staff for their kindness and professionalism. A very special thanks for the wonderful surprise they prepared for my wife! It was such a thoughtful and sweet gesture that deeply impressed us and made her feel truly special.
Impeccable service and genuinely warm people. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!

The location of this hotel is perfect, in the centre of town, but amazingly quiet inside. The welcome at check-in was efficient and very friendly, Maria taking the time to chat with us and assure us that they were there to help in any way. Our room was on the 2nd floor overlooking the outside pool and garden area, extremely spacious, quality furniture and fittings, large bathroom with 2 sinks and walk in shower. It has a small fridge, kettle with tea and coffee. A large bottle of water was left in the room every day. The balcony was very large with wooden decking, table and 2 chairs. It was extremely well sound-proofed, beds comfortable, great pillows, and we slept well every night. We stayed for 7 nights and had time to use the indoor swimming pool with optional jacuzzi type jets, the Turkish bath and sauna. We were provided with robes and towels for our use.
We ate a simple supper in the bar one evening and had cocktails another in a very pleasant atmosphere. This area converts to the breakfast room in the mornings. The buffet breakfast was excellent, everything fresh, lots of choice, constantly replenished and staff pleasant. Bubbly always on ice so we had Buck's Fizz with our breakfast each day.
We have been lucky to have travelled extensively and experience many hotels, and we can honestly say that Mercure Ponta Delgada was up there with the best for quiet efficiency, warm atmosphere and pure restfulness. Even after a fairly busy schedule of exploring Sao Miguel we both returned home feeling rested, relaxed and refreshed. Thank you to the Manager, Sr Corneliu Popa, and his amazing team for helping us have a wonderful holiday.
I would have liked more toiletries in the bathroom. The room description states 'toiletries provided' but proved to be simply a hand-soap dispenser, shampoo/shower dispenser and tissues. I had not packed body lotion or hair conditioner as we expected to have a tray of individual products as most hotels provide. That is a minor thing and in no way would put me off staying there again.

Location was perfectly located in downtown Ponta Delgada The facility was impeccable and the staff were super helpful and accommodating. For breakfast they had a great variety of options available. Highly recommend it.
Parking was a challenge in the downtown area. Important to be familiar with parking times and what is available nearby. The Mercure only has 10 spots available but its on a first come first serve. There is a parking garage on the same street for overnight parking. Very safe.
