Ir was a reasonable standard but other Dormy hotels I have stayed in were much better.
The price was high for the standard of facilities.
The location is very convenient to take subway or shopping, but room is so small!
Great breakfast and hot tub
Onsen spettacolare
Loved the location (near Akihabara station, plenty of shops and restaurants nearby), the staff were professional and helpful. I like all the extra amenities that the hotel has, like the coin laundry, vending machines, etc.
While I didn’t use it for my stay, I also like that all Dormy Inn hotels have an onsen as well. The complementary evening soba was good too.
This is more of a personal thing: I liked the music box music playing in the hallways (I even recognized some, like Yoasobi’s “Idol”, or music from Nausicaa, which is fitting for a hotel in Akihabara)
I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and it was my first time travelling alone. All of the staff were incredibly helpful and the hotel had a very calm atmosphere with music/soft lighting throughout.
The hotel stored my bags for free before my check in and after my check out, giving me more time to explore the city.
The highlight of my entire trip was the onsen on the top floor of the hotel, I was nervous to use it at first, but it was incredibly relaxing and very clean. I have tattoos and the hotel offered free tattoo cover up stickers at the front desk.
Considering it was Tokyo, my room was a good size with enough space to fully open my large suitcase and still have space to walk around. The room had air conditioning and a nice bathroom with a separate shower (although I never used the shower as I used the onsen every day and showered there).
The hotel also offered free ramen noodles, free ice cream, and had plenty of manga that guests could borrow. The hotel was also under 10 minutes away from 2 train stations, allowing me to get everywhere I wanted to go quickly. I would never consider staying in a different hotel in Japan now that I've stayed here.
The neighbourhood was quite busy (my fault for not researching properly) however even though I was on floor 2, none of the street noise reached my room. The pillows on the bed were very flat/hard, though I believe this is the preference in Japan.
It was well located and easy to find. Staff was very friendly and professional.
There was not a single hook to hang up a towel. :)
