Hotel was lovely, such a relaxed feeling! staff were fantastic and service was amazing
nothing
Zack in the restaurant was good to myself and my family
As per my email at checkout
Facilities fab, food amazing, service fantastic!!!!
Setting is spectacular and the main part of the hotel has been/is in the process of being refurbished. The parts that have been completed are impressive and I assume the remaining parts will be done to the same standard. The food was excellent; we had breakfast, lunch and dinner and were impressed by the quality of food.
The level of service was patchy! By this I mean that some of the staff were highly professional, knowledgable (about the menu), while other staff gave the impression they took little pride in their work. For example; my wife ordered a cocktail with our lunch and it still hadn't arrived 40mins later. During this time we asked our waitress twice and she seemed annoyed that we were annoyed about the wait. Eventually I went to the barman and asked myself and only then did we get the drink. Moreover, the reception staff also gave off the vibe that they were killing time and didn't want to be approached to answer any questions.
Meals rooms very nice but restaurant snd bar is very overpriced
The prices at bar
Very clean and excellent views.
Rooms need a refresh as there is quite a few signs of wear and tear over the years.
Staying for a wedding
We asked about an early check in but didn’t confirm we wanted it. We were charged £30 ( £10 per hour ) even though we didn’t check in early . Had no choice but to pay as staying for a wedding .
I also advised hotel I had a broken leg and we were put in a room with steps in it and a bath with shower over bath so I was unable to use.
Room very hot and dated .
Breakfast also poor , I ordered pancakes and got 2 small pancakes and a thimble full of maple syrup.
Beautiful hotel with the most exceptional staff. No issue that couldn’t be solved, or question that wasn’t answered promptly and without fuss. Attending the hotel for a family wedding and it really was amazing, with the attention to detail by the staff, and a wonderful meal helping to make it all a truly memorable day. With a special mention to Graham in the bar, who was such a great sport letting the gents watch the World Cup game afterwards.
Noise from the restaurant was annoying, especially when it started at 0730 in the morning.
Property was in a lovely location. Weather was very warm but rooms just had fans that after a while just didn’t keep the room cool enough
No air conditioning in rooms
Check in was fine but we were dissatisfied with room bed was too small and pull down bed was too heavy for us to pull down
Reception was not very helpful when wee complained at first but after another complaint were given another room which was fine
Being told hotel was busy and there was no rooms available this was an expensive weekend which I don’t mind providing it comes up too standard the rooms need upgrading and I found them to be disappointing
Everything , particularly location
Nothing
