Houseboat Wild Rose

It’s a very peaceful and comfortable place to unwind. Of course, it was also a very unique experience for me to live on a houseboat for five days.

I had a wonderful stay at Houseboat Wild Rose. Although I stayed for only one night, I truly wished I could have stayed longer. The hospitality was excellent, the room was clean and comfortable, and the mountain views were absolutely beautiful and peaceful.

Faizan and Ibrahim were fantastic hosts—very welcoming, helpful, and attentive throughout my stay. Everything was great from start to finish, and I would definitely love to come back next year and stay longer.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and authentic stay in Kashmir!

There are lotus around the hotel area and the scenic mountains in the background. The hotel offered welcome tea and snacks on arrival. The owner guys are helpful. They even arranged us to exchange money at hotel by connecting their peers. Please be aware that it needs to take the boat/ shikhara from habour to the hotel and it takes 20mins to and from. The habour was said to be closed at 8 pm. You have to hire the boat everytime when you commute and hotel guys were happy to arrange it for you.

Wunderschöne, sehr ruhige Lage. Am liebsten wäre man ausschliesslich auf dem Hausboot und der tollen Terrasse geblieben. Sehr aufmerksames, freundliches Personal, das jederzeit darum bemüht war, dass man sich wohlfühlt. Gemütliche und saubere Zimmer. Leckeres Essen. Wenn in Srinagar, dann auf dem Hausboot Wild Rose. I had a brilliant stay at Wild Rose, all of the team there (Amir, Ibrahim and Faizen) looked after me so well and made a big effort to make sure I had a great time. They organised day trips for me, made delicious homemade food and coordinated all of the transport to/from the airport. It's a beautifully serene setting with stunning views of the sunsets and the mountains - I would love to come back.

Faizan is very knowledgeable about trekking in Kashmir and an experienced guide. He shared interesting information about the mountains, local culture, and the region throughout our trip, making the experience even more special.

I originally booked Houseboat Wild Rose for just one night, but I loved my stay so much that I ended up staying for an entire week! The hospitality was exceptional from start to finish. Faizan was a wonderful host, and Ibrahim was also incredibly kind, friendly, and always ready to help.
They organized amazing sightseeing day trips, a peaceful boat ride, and even arranged a fantastic 4-day trekking adventure, which became one of the highlights of my trip. Everything was well planned and made my visit to Kashmir truly unforgettable.
The home-cooked food was absolutely delicious—fresh, authentic, and prepared with great care every day. The houseboat offers a calm and relaxing atmosphere with breathtaking views of the mountains, the lake, and birds all around. Waking up to such peaceful surroundings was simply magical.

Ibrahim und Faizan waren sehr gute Gastgeber. Sie haben uns auch geholfen Ausflüge zu organisieren. Die Lage des Hausbootes war aussergewöhnlich, kein anderes Boot neben dem Hausboot, die Natur konnte genossen werden. Glücklicherweise wurde kein Motorboot für die Fortbewegung genutzt sonder nur das Paddel. Das Essen war aussergewöhnlich gut und frisch zubereitet. Von Amin wurden wir aufmerksam betreut. Die traditionelle Inneneinrichtung bot einen speziellen Charme. Der Aufenthalt auf der Terrasse war besonders am Morgen und am Abend sehr schön.

Everything. The location, the tranquillity, the decor and the staff all made it a memorable stay

We absolutely loved our stay on Houseboat Wild Rose. The view from the houseboat was just stunning with the mountains, the lake, the water lillies and the myriad birds circling the sky and on the lake. Because it is located further away from the hubbub of the lake, it was serene and soothing. We loved the peace and quiet of the lake, broken only by bird calls and the croaking of the frogs. Breakfast is simple and tasty - eggs and delicious Kashmiri bread. We had dinners on the boat and the food was fresh and tasty. On our last evening, we requested Wazwan dishes which were arranged for us. The rooms are adequate and what you would expect in a houseboat. It was cosy and we enjoyed sleeping with the windows open. We loved relaxing on the deck with our books and coffee and noon chai ( delicious!).
Amir who served us was attentive and prompt with everything we requested. Faizan was courteous and prompt with bookings, queries and suggestions. Both of them along with the cook who made our meals, the shikara boatman, and the owner Ibrahim ensured we had a pleasant stay. Kashmir is a beautiful place with beautiful people. We loved our first trip to the state and we hope to visit again. Highly recommend this place!

Houseboat Wild Rose lived up to the high praise reviews that previous guests posted. It's hard to imagine a better location for a houseboat let alone a hotel in Srinagar. Houseboat Wild Rose is located outside the noise and clutter of the main canal area and the short daily journey we took by the shikara (taxi boat) to the mainland was what other tourists paid for as a special excursion, one that we never tired of. As well as being on the edge of, but away from the main hub, an unexpected bonus was the prolific birdlife right on our doorstep, particularly first thing in the morning and late afternoon.

The team at Wild Rose could not have been more helpful and accommodating while the food was tasty, varied and generous in size.

A big thanks to Amil, Faizan and Ibrahim for making our visit so memorable. We look forward to staying with you the next time we visit Srinagar.

We fully enjoyed our stay at Wild Rose Houseboat and would love to come back whenever time allows. We have been warmly welcomed and supported during our stay. Its in the back side of Dal Lake. If u want to enjoy its true Beauty, go there in the Lily season. Its serene and tranquil. Faizan and his father are very friendly and gentle people. Food is very good. There is a very old Chacha. U need hot Kahwa, Chai, anything he will give u his sweetest smile and serve u. We went in last week of March, there were many migratory birds -we used to wake up hearing their chatter. Its surrounded by water plants and other houseboats but other boats are slightly and comfortably away. Boating in dal lake from here is interesting , the boat man takes u through local water gullies. Through garlic and mustard plots in full blooms. Just beautiful ❤️
