Wouldn’t stay again
Pros:

Great location, food was good.

Cons:

Needs updating, rooms are tired. Floors so creaky you can hear other guests. Not soundproof at all. Can hear guests through the night. Bed uncomfortable and slats on the bed had fallen off. Room was small and poorly layed out. Bar shuts at 10pm but no alternative provisions provided for guests staying which is unusual.

Ticked all boxes we wanted for a short stay with comfort and bar/food/breakfast great. Staff great.
Pros:

We had a warm welcome, young lady on reception was great and very friendly and helpful. All staff were organised and efficient. Bar and restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere.

Cons:

A mirror close to hairdryer point would be useful and lighting was dark in our room. Everthing else was great.

Basic facilities and limited service but good location
Pros:

Property is in a great location, dog friendly and a nice flat walk away from Chatsworth House

Cons:

Our room was on the ground floor and very very hot. We had a small window which opened onto a back pathway so we weren’t comfortable leaving it open all night and just had to swelter. Breakfast was a bit disappointing and mostly self-service. It would have been good to know we had to make our own toast so we could have done that before our eggs arrived.

Pros:

Perfect location for visiting Chatsworth. The staff were excellent and could not do enough to help us. Help with breakfast (when I made a mistake with my order the night before) was happily rectified by the staff and this was very much appreciated. Please thank the chef.

The stay was nice just expected a bit more for the price
Pros:

The property location was brilliant

Food was very nice but the service in the main restaurant was rather slow.

Cons:

The property could do with a bit of an uplift as it looks very dated in the rooms and a bit messy in public places.

Breakfast was a little lacking in terms of what was available. You have to order the evening before which is strange as you don’t always want to have a cooked breakfast. Only toast available if no cooked breakfast wanted, no fruit or cereal
