Pros:

I liked the room, it was spacious and had good storage in both the bathroom and the bedroom. Liked the hot shower also. Breakfast was just ok, quite basic (rice, eggs, cheese and a piece of fruit) but for the price I paid more than adequate. It was great that they had the monteverde cloud reserve shuttle do pick ups and drop offs directly at the hotel as well as various other tours available to be booked directly at the hotel at the same price (or better) that you could find at the agencies. Clean drinking water from the tap is available as well as use of the kitchen, which were both bonuses. Well placed in my opinion for the restaurants, grocery stores and bus station (albeit a very short uphill walk).

Cons:

Could have benefited from a fan for the room as it did get very hot. While I'm able to sleep through road noise which actually wasn't even bad in the room that I was staying, the walls between rooms are thin - I could here the person in the next room snoring and any conversations or til toks videos being played late into the night could also easily be heard so if that bothers you then bring ear plugs and maybe play some white or brown noise to drown it out (which did the trick for me). Communication before and after booking could have been better - via booking.com and email, responses were delayed or no response received at all, until I was able to get the WhatsApp number which then communication was a lot better, quicker etc.

Ein tolles Hostel, indem man entspannend kann.
Pros:

Ich habe bisher kein Hostel gebucht und war so positiv überrascht von Pension Santa Elena. Ich hatte ein privates Zimmer mit eigenem Bad. Es war sehr sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Der Gemeinschaftsberwixh war angenehm und die Hängematten im Garten haben zum Entspannen eingeladen. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Cons:

Alles war super. Ein Kühlschrank im Zimmer wäre ein tolles Add-on gewesen oder dass die Mülleimer im Bad täglich geleert werden, da das Toilettenpapier nicht runtergespült werden darf. ABER: perfektes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis

Everything we needed, clean and comfortable. Well located and easy to get to. Would stay again.
Pros:

The facilities were great as Pension Santa Elena.
We had a Room with a private bathroom. Towels were provided along with toiletries. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean.

The shared kitchen had everything you need and was a good space, with Tea and coffee provided.

Breakfast was also included which was 2 options- traditional Costa Rican breakfast and yoghurt with granola and fruit. Both were great options.

The garden and communal space are also well maintained.

We were able to book tours via the hostel which were very reasonably priced, easy to arrange and flexible.

Cons:

There was nothing I didn’t like about this property.

Preiswert, kommunikativ, aber laut
Pros:

Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, schöne Gemeinschaftsräume, toller Garten!
Hervorragende Duschen richtig heiß, mit kräftigem Strahl!
An der Rezeption bekommt man gute Informationen und kann problemlos Touren buchen, und sie sind nicht teurer, als wenn man sie anderswo bucht.
Das (eher einfache und langweilige) Frühstück ist im Preis inbegriffen, und Kaffee gibt es immer so viel man will.

Cons:

Das Hostel liegt an einer sehr lauten Straße, die nachts häufig für Motorradrallays benutzt zu werden scheint. Ich konnte nur mit Ohrenstöpseln schlafen!
