Below par experience.
Pros:

The view from the second room after changing was good.

Cons:

Upon arrival we were given a room on the ground floor. Immediately noticed that the bathroom door would not close unless you put the toilet seat up. Even then it was a close shave.

Returned to reception to say that this room was in no way adequate and certainly did not fit the description of a deluxe double room. Was told we could move room in around 40 minutes.

Second room on the first floor was better. Bigger bathroom and the door closed. The bathroom and overall still did not feel quite as clean as you would expect.

Can't say anything about the bar or restaurants as a decision was made not to eat or drink in the hotel and eat in town instead.

Overall impressions of the hotel were not good. I guess first impressions really do count.

Car park spaces were limited and would seriously question the availability of free parking has the hotel been at full capacity. Luckily this was towards the end of the season.

Would not return to this particular hotel.

Deluxe in Name, but Not as Advertised
Pros:

The hotel faced a south facing beach. Handy for a stroll.

Cons:

The Deluxe Double Room I received was much smaller and nowhere near the standard shown in the photographs on Booking.com.

The bathroom was very cramped, and the fixed shower head was old and sprayed water in different directions rather than providing a proper shower. The room also had a small window, which was very different from the large bay windows shown in the Booking.com photos. There were no chairs and table by the window as pictured, and the overall room felt much less modern than what was advertised.

Soundproofing was also poor, as I could clearly hear people talking and even snoring in the adjacent rooms.

When I raised the difference with the front desk, I was told that the room is classed as “Deluxe” because it is sea-facing, and that the smaller size does not change the room category. However, this does not address the fact that the photographs used on Booking.com give a very different impression of the size, layout and standard of the room.

Overall, I was disappointed because the room I received did not match what I reasonably expected based on the photographs when booking.

Staff were friendly and location great. Hotel is mostly filled with retirment coach trips.
Pros:

Location was lovely. Can walk straight out to the beach & fab views depending on which site of the hotel your room is on.

Cons:

Paid quite a bit for 3 nights and there was no breakfast included.
To buy a breakfast when there the kids would cost the same as adults and as a family of 5 I wasn’t willing to pay £60 for a breakfast each day.
Family room bathroom was very small and little space to move in.

Disappointed
Pros:

The bed was comfortable.

Cons:

The room was definitely not like the pictures very misleading,it was a family room, very crammed,no bedside table to even put you fone on, could do with reorganization, as the wardrobe, dressing table and 2 bedside tables are all along one wall, doesn't make sense, shower slow, no blind on bathroom window, was really hot and stuffy, the fone attached to the wall didn't work ,not sure if it's supposed to (if not take it away), the lights went out early in the morning as we were getting ready, fortunately there was a mirror beside the window where we could do our makeup, breakfast doesn't start till 8am ,so nothing to offer those going early the 2 mornings,( Morrisons is near by 🙄)The whole room is very tired, the only positive was the staff we did see (only 2) were very nice.

I had a very pleasant stay. The people of the town are friendly. I will be back
Pros:

The view from the window was lovely. The shore line and right down the Firth of Clyde. Close to the shops and the Ferry terminus. The hotel had a balcony to sit out.

Cons:

The dinner at night was a three course, too fancy for me. So was unable to eat in. Did not have the breakfast.
