Pleasant and relaxing
Pros:

Our room which was lovely. The cost for bed and breakfast. Good bathroom. The impressive grounds with the lake and wildlife.

Cons:

Breakfast. I wanted muesli, plain yoghurt, berries and toast from a freshly cooked loaf.
Dinner in the restaurant was overpriced. We could have had a great dinner for less than half the price either way room service.

Overpriced.
Pros:

Setting and house is very nice. Staff were freindly.

Cons:

One of those hotels trying to be 'posh' but that isn't really that elevated beyond a premier inn when it comes to actual comfort or service. It hasn't upgraded decor or menu in 10 years. Staff were sweet but pretty clueless. Food was expensive and overly fancy but dishes just didn't work. We paid 170 for one night not including breakfast. We declined the extra 50 pounds (!) for that and left quickly in the morning.

Love the grounds and the essence of the hotel
Pros:

The grounds, hotel itself and surrounding areas are utterly beautiful.

Cons:

That a member of staff woke me up at 4am by talking animatedly into his phone outside of reception (by my room). The sole reason for my travel was to sleep well ahead of an event and I could have travelled up on the day instead based on how it actually turned out… an expensive failing :(

Beautiful place
Pros:

Beautiful Grade 1 building and lovely grounds. staff, particularly Morgan & Archie , very attentive and polite
Food v good

Cons:

This place is soo nice but the lovely resteraunt sadly needs more cleaning as flies in the same spot every day. Not new ones old ones from the day before -
On window sills & dado rails.
Also very large cobweb in the window blind….. there over a period of 3 days

Sad to leave the review as this was the only thing wrong…

Perfekt für einen Zwischenstop
Pros:

Sehr schönes Anwesen

Cons:

Also lieber woanders essen!

The Staff do not care about their guests
Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

Venue was dirty, confetti everywhere, not been cleaned up. Arrived z sat down for dinner on a pre booked table at 7:30 ordered a lemonade, waited 20 minutes, in the end I went to get it myself only to find it was not lemonade but more fizzy water.

Had to go in to get the menus. Went up to order. By this time it was 8pm.

Had to ask for the table to be cleaned and cleared before food arrived which was a half ass attempt .

9:20pm the food finally arrived.

Staff could not give a monkeys about their patrons. Customer service was shocking.

I've had better service in 3 star hotels and been appreciated more in less.

Will not stay here again.

Pros:

The staff were excellent, helpful, friendly and professional. The food was excellent and the accommodation was comfortable, clean and practical. Location was good with easy access to the grounds.

Cons:

The only slight disappointment, given the stay was a special treat, was the inconsiderate language used by a loud group of men who were in a dining room occupied by several couples when there was a separate private dining room available. On request we were moved to a table furthest away from this group which helped considerably.
