Cons:

The bath and basin was damaged
The room was next to the housekeeping laundry, which was in use all day with the door open and three bags of dirty laundry sat less than a metre away from our outside seating, so we never used it.
The restaurant food poor, on the second night. I return my meal, I sat waiting, no staff member came to speak to me , I thought I was to have the meal replaced. As my friends had finished their meals we went to the bar, I was told because I’d eaten half the fish inside the batter, they would not refund or replace the meal. When in fact there was more batter than fish and it was like a frozen (bake in the oven) fillet

Comfortable, charming in perfect location with great restaurant/bar
Pros:

Great value for money, charming features, exactly the vibe we were hoping for. We stayed in room 13 and it was beautifully furnished, surprisingly large. We were woken in the middle of the night suddenly by the tap in the bathroom turning on by itself - and I don't mean dripping, it was ON full blast. I laid there for a few seconds incredibly confused as I realised my partner was right next to me fast asleep. I was sort of just laughing to myself, thinking no way, and listened to it running for a full minute. My partner woke up towards the end of it being on, and just as I was about to get up and go turn it off, it turned off by itself. Well, I decided that was none of my business and I rolled over and went straight back to sleep lol! Great facilities and lovely pub downstairs, and some faulty taps I guess? Would be interested to know if this has happened before and if maybe there's just some kind of plumbing issue.

Cons:

Nothing from our perspective - it's worth noting there's a nice pub/restaurant downstairs so it's inevitably noisy while the pub is open. Acoustics are pretty loud from downstairs/outside. But that didn't bother us - we expected it or we wouldn't have booked a pub stay. Would happily stay again.

Shower in bath couldnt be used by one of us. missing toilet button cover, taps needed extra turn to shut completely in basin. Would have preferred mugs to cup and saucer.

Pros:

We were impressed by the nature of your front of house manager, Jen. She was very friendly and energetic... in fact she needed to be, just to stay across her duties to cover both client check-ins, and restaurant management. She gave 200% effort. She is your best asset.

Cons:

Whilst we were very satisfied to arrive on a cold day and have the room pleasantly warm, we found that the facilities were a bit dated and odiferous..... and would benefit from refreshment. Other than that suggestion, most of our other requirements were well met. eg, toaster, plates, air con....

It was efficient

Cons:

The duty manager on at the time needs to go to some sort of customer service school. Her attitude at the time was absolutely disgusting cutting me off mid sentence when I was trying to talk. It really made me want to cancel my booking on the spot. For a first timer in York!

Other than that could not fault the accommodation it had everything we needed.

Cons:

The Bath… when I got in it made all kinds of creaks… not good for an elderly couple if they have to climb in the bath to shower…

The stay over all was ok, we still had a pleasant stay
Pros:

didnt get breakfast, the staff were good and the venue was convenient and situated in a central location

Cons:

The TV didn't work and when we approached the staff about it nothing could be done about it, and when i went to have a coffee in the morning the milk supplied was out of date and lumpy
