The staff was remarkable, every single one - remarkable and shout out to Francis.
Pros:

Location was good, breakfast had buffet and also ala carte.
A quaint old hotel. It also had a fantastic restaurant below called MIAs

Cons:

Sadly there was renovation going on when we were, so a bit noisy during daytime.
AC took a while to cool up, not very strong but does cool the room

Wonderful stay, and a highlight of our trip!
Pros:

Our stay at Solaria Hanoi Hotel was exceptional from beginning to end. On top of the fantastic location, the rooms were comfortable, everything was thoughtfully arranged, and the entire experience was wonderfully smooth and fuss-free. What truly distinguished Solaria, however, was the extraordinary attentiveness of its team.

We would especially like to commend Daria, Susan and Judy, who made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. Their attention to detail was remarkable: they noticed even the smallest things, such as when my father-in-law needed a toothpick, and would often step forward to assist before we had even thought to ask. This level of warmth, initiative and sincere hospitality made us feel completely at ease.

We also arranged a private day trip to Ninh Binh through the hotel, with Susan’s kind and wonderful assistance. She carefully took all our requests into consideration, and the resulting itinerary incorporated everything we had hoped for. The trip turned out perfectly and became one of the highlights of our time in Vietnam.

From the comfortable accommodation to the consistently thoughtful service, Solaria made our stay in Hanoi truly memorable. We felt fully taken care of at every moment and are already looking forward to staying here again the next time we return to Hanoi. Our heartfelt thanks to Daria, Susan, Judy and the entire Solaria team!

Decent location and room, but the service made the stay far less enjoyable than it needed to be.
Pros:

Location was convenient and the room itself was fine overall.

Cons:

The service was frustrating and overly intrusive. Staff repeatedly interrupted me, including while I was eating breakfast. Check in also became an unnecessary 30 minute briefing about hotel facilities even after I explained that I had been traveling, it was late, and I simply wanted to go to my room. Guests should be allowed to decline services or explanations they do not want. There was also visible water damage throughout the flooring, and having only one slow elevator made getting around unnecessarily tedious.

Amazing location and staff
Pros:

Fabulous location. This was our second stay here in 2 years. The staff are just wonderful. Tom, Miss Susan, Daria and Francis were all helpful and friendly. I’m sorry I can’t remember everyone’s names. They work so hard. The roof top bar is a great place to spend some time too and breakfast is plentiful. Something for everyone. The downstairs restaurant MIA is absolutely superb..please go..best meal in Hanoi.

Cons:

The spa experience was very average. Lack of knowledge and professionalism. Miss Susan adjusted the bill which was very appreciated. Our room had little to no storage and was dated. It had a large bathroom with bath and we put our suitcases in there!! Room had limited sound proofing, so there was noise from fellow tourists, the lift, and staff talking loudly to each other and on their phones early in the morning that disturbed our sleep.

A gem of a hotel
Pros:

Perfectly located on the edge of the old quarter by the lake. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Our room had a great view and was thoughtfully decorated. Really good breakfast. Hanoi and the Solaria has become our favourite place in Asia (so far...).

Cons:

Nothing. There was a bit of wear and tear but the hotel is in the process of making improvements and will only get even better.
