Travelodge Suites Busan Centum

This is feedback I genuinely did not want to give, but unfortunately, I feel compelled to share our experience.

Our stay at Travelodge Centum in Busan was extremely disappointing, particularly regarding the accommodation, housekeeping standards, safety concerns and, most importantly, the appalling level of customer service.

1. Room and Bedding Issues

* Upon arrival, we discovered that the room only had one bed, despite our understanding that an additional futon would be provided.
* The so-called futon was nothing more than a thin, soft bedding item resembling a single doona. It was completely unsuitable as a proper bed.
* We initially attempted to resolve the situation ourselves before approaching reception.
* We spoke with Sandy at reception, who came upstairs to inspect the room and advised that no alternative rooms were available.
* After further discussions with management and checking Booking.com, it became apparent that other rooms were available.
* The manager eventually showed us another room, but this presented further issues, including the absence of a couch.
* We were subsequently taken to another room on the 35th floor, which met our requirements, and we were finally satisfied with the accommodation.
* This entire situation involved unnecessary inconvenience and frustration that could have been avoided with better communication and customer service.

2. Housekeeping and Bed Linen

* We had screenshots confirming that our room was to be cleaned twice during our stay.
* However, despite the room being serviced, the bed linen did not appear to have been changed.
* The beds were not properly attended to, which raised concerns about the standard of housekeeping.
* For a hotel, guests should reasonably expect the agreed housekeeping services to be carried out properly.

3. Safety Concern: Broken Bed

* On 19 October, we discovered that part of the bed was broken, creating a genuine safety hazard.
* Unfortunately, I injured my leg as a result.

The room wasn’t very clean even on the day of arrival. Floor was a bit dusty. It would also be good to have a dryer, especially for longer stays like ours. The staff was friendly, but only a few can communicate well in english. The fire alarm was triggered one morning and the announcement was in Korean, so we couldn’t understand what the notification was.

- There are 3 elevators and they are fairly slow, so sometimes you have to wait for a bit. Or maybe it's just too few elevators for 38 floors.
- Despite the infrastructure (restaurants etc.) the area is not very lively at night. While technically it is not far to the beaches it is quite separated due to the highways and water and therefore not walkable. If you looking for a 'fun' neighborhood this might not be the best option.
- The shower/toilet had a bit of a scent. Unfortunately many places here have that issue.

Rooms are not cleaned daily, although fresh towels were provided

The check in counter/lobby was cramped and underwhelming, though the check in staff were polite and helpful.

It was not home away from home. No cooking utensil. Instruction not to use the stove. Besides the electric jug, I expected a microwave
