Cons:

There is no restaurant near by, and no Halal option in the menu except the seafood. But the staff is very helpful in ordering the food for you from outside.

Comfort and luxury in a very special location in the incredible city of Guangzhou! Loved it!
Pros:

The location was perfect for us, a beautiful spot on an island in the Pearl river. One quick tip to other foreign visitors though - please make sure you have the correct Chinese translation of the hotel address before you get in a taxi, or likely they won't know where it is (we learned the hard way!). Once we made it there, though, we were super impressed. The hotel is beautiful, with a real luxury look and feel. We we so impressed with our room - so spacious and comfortable with everything you would need - very special indeed, and our balcony had incredible views. The staff were just lovely, very friendly and helpful. The food in the a la carte restaurant was just beautiful, and there was plenty of choice in the buffet restaurants too. With the free shuttle bus, it was the perfect location for the Canton Fair (the reason for our visit). It was our comfortable haven after a long day at the fair.
Overall, we just loved our stay at the Xanadu and would definitely return

Cons:

Only a little thing. We looked forward to a lazy swim in the infinity pool, with it's fantastic views across the city from the top floor. However, it was freezing cold and after donning our costumes and stepping one foot in, the lifeguard shooed us away saying we couldn't get in without swimming caps. I'm sorry, but wearing a swimming hat is not exactly holiday infinity pool vibes ;-). So since we didn't have caps (they sold them of course), that was the end of that. But just a small niggle in an otherwise fantastic experience.

One of my favorite hotels so far. I love it and it's my 3rd stay. I highly recommend. Everything is.
