Pros:

We liked everything about this place. It is placed away from the crowd, nestled in a quiet spot right by the water. You can take a shikara from the property itself to explore Dal Lake. The breakfast was good & reasonably priced. The view is peaceful with many birds around. It's a small cozy property, clean and comfy.
The caretaker Ubaid was wonderful, helped us with whatever we needed (shikara, rickshaw, scooter contact etc) & always with a smile. He really took good care of us (Kashmiri hospitality at its best)! I would definitely go here again :)

Cons:

I think the only thing to recommend is better pillows.. I found them very thick and ended up using the cushions instead.

Für ein paar Tage in Srinagar ganz passabel
Pros:

Tolle Lage direkt am See, besser als auf den teilweise schon sehr heruntergekommenen Hausbooten, schöner Garten mit Sitzgelegenheit und Veranda. Ideal sind die vorderen Zimmer im 1. Stock. Gutes Essen und jederzeit warme und kalte Getränke. Taxi bzw. Tuk-Tuk gleich nebenan.

Cons:

Die Umgebung ist nicht sehr einladend, etwas heruntergekommen und verdreckt.
Ein großes Problem sind Händler, die mit Duldung der Besitzer in den Garten kommen, zuerst eine Shikara-Fahrt anbieten, die aber dann in einem Lagerhaus endet, wo überteure Teppiche und Souvenirs sehr aufdringlich angeboten werden. Finger weg davon, diese können in den Läden in der Stadt in oft besserer Qualität und viel günstiger erworben werden.

My parents had a very good stay at Chachoo Palace. The place provided excellent service and the rooms were comfortable. The highlight was the driver provided through the hotel, who ended up driving them through the entire trip, which was a big help. Highly recommended!

Good location. Right on the water. A hotel, not a boat. Some of the boats looked isolated, run-down and with access limited.

Cons:

Nothing really. It is good value for money. Someone mentioned the pressure in the shower in one of the reviews. That is correct. A minor irritation. I still had a good shower but I think the shower head needs changing.

Peaceful stay in Srinagar near Dal lake
Pros:

One of the best places to stay in Srinagar. The location is quiet, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing, yet everything is easily accessible nearby.

The owners are extremely honest, warm, and welcoming, which made our stay even more comfortable. A special mention to Ubaid, the caretaker — such a genuine and kind person. He helped us with everything, from bike rentals to booking a shikara ride, and always made sure we got fair prices and didn’t get scammed by local rentals or agents.

Their hospitality and care truly made our trip memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Srinagar!
