Very comfortable and tranquil treehouse cabins. Lovely dinner at the restaurant. Short walk into town.
Stayed in one of the hives for a night
So chilled out
Staff helpful and friendly

Lovely location. Staff were nice and friendly.
Is expensive for what you get. Didn't have breakfast included although we paid over £200 a night. Our room wasn't very big, and window didn't open, which isn't great during a heatwave. Although food in restaurant was nice, was far too expensive for what you got. Wine was very expensive.
Beautiful location, hoztoric building and surrounding countryside.
Our room #8 was described as "cosy", surely a massive understatement. Hardly any room to move, only one chair. Suitable for single occupancy only. Also spots of mould in the bathroom. At that price I would have expected much better.
Beautiful part of the world, on Tissington Trail walk and yet within 10 min walk of Ashbourne
Setting stunning and staff friendly. Building beautiful
Quite pricy
The location is a lovely setting, just outside of town (we were on a motorbike so getting in there and out was easy), but you could use one of the bicycles to go in if you didn’t want to drive. It is a pretty setting to relax and interestingly it had a lovely smell with a pine wood burnt scent in the main entrance and lower halls. The overall facilities and room were clean with nice touches with good quality soaps etc. which while minor, make the stay nicer. We had a very nice dinner with very good service from the staff.
The online booking system for the spa, could be better and a little more automated, rather than sending a request and waiting for a reply (which never came in our case).
Classy hotel, with lovely facilities
Service was not so good in dinner room unfortunately staff seemed split with outside diners and a party
restaurant good but a little slow.
would be nice to have a seperate bar
the bathroom door urgently needs attention
Stunning hive in the wild beautiful and breathtaking
There isn’t anything I can say
Location and facilities!
Our dogs loved their accommodation in one of the treehouses, which was a unique experience!
We would have preferred if our breakfast was all inclusive, offering a top up of coffee!
Beautiful interiors and surroundings. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Based on the layout, our room (room 6) appeared to be the smallest available from the plan, with a very awkwardly placed window overlooking what looked like refuse/random collected bits from the estate behind the building, which was disappointing given the price of the room.
The treehouses also appeared slightly unfinished/unneat (slightly like a construction site).
Staff were super friendly
Food was incredible

The tree house was wonderful great location, great accommodation loved it! The hotel was in a lovely spot very calm and stylish. The spa was lovely in a great building although surroundings still being developed. The restaurant was lovely well set out and nice tables. Great welcome from reception.
The room wasn’t ready! No milk water in the room so had to ask. Service in the bar/restaurant area was shocking! Initially went for a drink and sat outside as it was nice weather! There wasn’t visibility of many staff and those serving didn’t look around to see if people wanted serving. Eventually after quite a while my husband had to go to the bar and ask for someone to take the order!
We then went for dinner, again it took ages for service! When the manager came over to take our order I asked about the menu explaining would like one particular dish but didn’t like taramasalata! He didn’t offer to do the dish without or offer an alternative he just looked at me! His staff which didn’t seem many were running around like ants and he was stood at his podium! The meal was very disappointing! The mussels were like bullets and the fish I had was the size of a postage stamp! I didn’t complain as it was a special occasion and didn’t want to put a dampener on it! But honestly I was shocked at how poor it was. Same for breakfast only 3 tables outside were set up and all the cushions were wet through! It was lovely and everyone wanted to sit outside! Again there was one girl on! She was lovely and very apologetic but obviously service was very slow! However breakfast when it did eventually come was lovely!
What a beautiful hotel. Perfect location from which to explore the surrounding area, but always looked forward to retreating back to this little haven. The food was exceptional, and the terrace for an evening drink was lovely! We hope to be back again soon!
My only suggestion would be for guests to receive a 'bill' to sign after each night to keep track of drinks and food, this might have given us some piece of mind during our stay, but such a minor point.
