Location was great, room was fantastic, parking was great to👍🏻
Cleanliness was fantastic bed was comfortable as well.
Having our own shower and toilet was great, i would definitely recommend and visit again for sure.
Genuine lovely people who couldn't do enough for us.
So looking forward to a return visit.
Excellent owner. Well done The Kings Head .
Didn't dislike anything.
Very helpful and accommodating staff, free parking in the car park around the corner, very clean, basic but comfortable. Only basket meals, but did a diy dinner from the shop over the road (with a basket of chips provided by the pub). I was also working, and the room had a great little desk and comfy chair to work at.
Although the village is tucked away (or so I thought), the road going through it is very busy - the pub fronts onto this road. Traffic was almost constant through the night, and very busy from at least 6am. There is no double glazing (even secondary would help) so nothing to stop the traffic noise. Other residents quite noisy (doors banging until about 2am). A pity, because it was a good location (only 10 minute drive from Kresen Kernow where I was working on a two day research visit) and great value for money.
Free parking at the rear of the property was great. Easy to find on the main street. Comfy bed. Handy to a store for milk etc.
Noisy rooms, as there was a large gap under the bedroom door. Someone else's alarm went off at 6.30 and was not silenced! A very old building in need of some TLC.
Very noisy as there was a wake going on, loud music inside and outside. We ended up having to book a room at another hotel, no offer of a refund. The short time we were in the room (about 10 minutes) it looked a bit run down and grubby, should have read the other reviews before I booked it, lesson learnt.
The reception was good.
Environment wasn't clean, it was noisy
Convenient for where I needed to be. Free parking nearby and the owner was friendly. The room was clean and tidy and matched my expectations for the price I paid. No complaints.
I stayed on one of the record breaking hot nights of the year which was not the owner’s fault, but a fan would have been great. The bed sheets were nylon cotton mix which, on a very hot night, were not great but, again, exceptional circumstances and no criticism; just feedback.
The bed
Every thing but the bed
One of my favourite locations, great bar and friendly bar staff.
Very friendly and helpful host, the key was available as soon as I arrived, the host introduced me to the room and the process of locking up the property so this was really helpful. The facilities good, the hotel clean and tidy, including the room, great value for money and a good location, the bus outside takes you into Truro, I was able to park easily. A great traditional pub with friendly locals so overall a great experience and I will return on my next visit.
Nothing, all good thank you.
This is a basic room in pub - entirely adequate for what I needed. The staff and customers at the location made it a pleasure to stay - they were all friendly and obliging. The stay was excellent value. Only issue was no phone signal in the village, but the free wifi was very good and covered the whole premises easily.
Absolutely nothing. The landlord was pleasant when I told him we couldn’t stay because of how dirty the room was. However, I’ve had to chase the refund that was agreed.
Building is in a derelict, semi refurbing state downstairs. Said check in was 3pm but all locked up with painters in pub. Landlord came 30 mins later and showed us to the room. Dirty, mouldy, damaged bedroom furniture. Rotten window frames, controls without batteries in. No channels programmed on TV, long black hair on bathroom floor, flies and pubic hair on and in toilet. Carpet dirty and grubby. One of the worse places to stay I’ve encountered so far using booking.com. carpark at the back of the pub has abandoned rusty cars to the point we thought it was a scrapyard. Chacewater is a run down dump and needs some money throwing at it. Booking.com will only allow you to put 4 photos so go to Trip advisor for the rest.
Brilliant sized rooms
Stairs
Friendly bar staff. Room clean and tidy
Downstairs bar and toilet bit shabby
It was fine for what I needed
No milk in the room for tea & coffee
