New hotel with excellent standard located very close to the lake with private beach.

The exceptional service provided by the hotel staff, particularly their friendly, polite, and accommodating demeanor, is a standout feature of this beautiful location. The hotel manager, Fillip demonstrated remarkable dedication by tirelessly arranging transportation when the restaurant experienced technical difficulties, even utilizing his personal vehicle to transport guests to a local establishment. We understand that this issue has since been resolved, and we are confident that future guests will enjoy an excellent stay when choosing this hotel. We highly recommend considering a lake view room, as the scenery is truly stunning. The hotel offers comfortable sunbeds on the lakeside beach, conveniently located just a few meters across the road. While the area is tranquil with a limited number of restaurants and may not be the most accessible, it is an ideal choice for those seeking a week of serenity in a welcoming environment, perfectly situated by the most beautiful lake.

Everything… the staff couldn’t have more pleasant and helpful. The facilities were perfect. Can’t say enough of Lagos Hotel and Spa. I would return to Macedonia just to stay here.

The fried dough(pişi) and menemen (Turkish scrambled eggs with vegetables) at breakfast were the most delicious I've ever had. The Ohrid fish, which is unique to that region, was very delicious. The lake water on the beach in front of the hotel was very good, the sun loungers were very comfortable and they were free.

First, the hotel's location is unbeatable! Right on Ohrid Lake! A small fruit-veg market is within 15 min of walking through picturesque villas along the lake.
Second, the hotel is comfortable and pretty, decorated with gorgeous original works of art. The room was clean, and the bed was super comfortable.
But the most important part of our stay was the people who made our stay pleasant and relaxed. Everyone was nice and helpful, but the hotel manager was fantastic! He went out of his way to resolve a little issue we had (not relevant to the hotel or our stay). He really saved the day for us! Later, he provided dinner recommendations and even gave us a ride there, since it was going to rain.
We had a fabulous time and want to recommend the Lago Hotel to anyone who is thinking about spending time on Ohrid Lake in Macedonia.

Location
The location is superb, across the road from the beach and easily accessible by car.

Parking
Despite the many cars and the busy spell, we always found a space to park behind the hotel.

Staff
If there were any issues, the staff were friendly, approachable and always on hand to help us out. Even on our first evening, when we were going out to a restaurant for dinner (Dva Bisera restaurant), reception offered to make a reservation for us by phone and because I had my older parents with me, they even offered to drop us there by car and even though we didn't need this, this was such a kind gesture. We ate in the Lago hotel restaurant twice and enjoyed the food and ambiance. The manager/owner of this hotel is very friendly and on check out, even helped us to load our suitcases into our hire car as the boot was a little on the small side for 4 suitcases.

Hotel/Facilities
The property, including the rooms, communal areas, outdoor pool, spa and restaurant are kept exceptionally clean.
The spa on the second floor really exceeded my expectations and gave that 'wow factor' with its clean modern design and almost 360 views of the lake and mountains. It was a delight to use the spa every late afternoon watching the sun start to set from the spa bath/jacuzzi. Towels are provided for the spa/pool and beach.

Beach
There is a beach directly across the road which has free sun loungers/parasols provided for guests. Although this beach can be accessed by the public and was a little busy, there were always sun loungers available. There is also a beach bar run by Lago Hotel and another beach bar adjacent to this. I believe there were also paddle boards for hire.

Summary
The level of hospitality with friendly hotel team looking after us really left us with a warm feeling that if we ever return to Lake Ohrid we'd strongly consider staying at this hotel again.
