Lack of a snack vending machine?

The place was crap, it was so dirty the wallpaper coming off, bed sheets had holes in it, moldy windows and bathrooms, nails in the sofa, carpet hasn't been cleaned in years, it stinks.
Complained and won't give me my money back, never go there

Staining on carpet in room. Musty odour in main entrance and reception. Understand that there are renovations being carried out , so hopefully they will sort things out. On the whole looking very tired in all areas.

Tv in room had no remote.

bathroom rather small

I knew the hotel didn't have great reviews, but I needed a night somewhere so I could get to something the next day. My expectations were low, but I do think some parts of what was provided should have been better. I had an email saying it was under new management and going through a series of works. Didn't see anything, lots of shut off areas, or lounges used for storage etc. No signs pointing me to the right areas, from the car park or through the building. No effort to create a small welcoming space. Didn't look in the bar. Car park had more craters than the moon. At reception a guest came and complained they had no tv remote, he was told if there wasn't one, he'd have to use the buttons. When I tried my own tv (also no remote) there was no signal at all, so no tv. Room was fairly clean, bedding appeared fresh, shower room not so good. Ancient pink sink in the bedroom with a mirror but poor light above. Only one of the bedside lights could be turned on, pulley cord missing. No chair (plenty unused downstairs). Kettle was directly under the TV. No bedside tables, just a worrying little shelf either side. The dark wall and had white powdery marks across them. Requested a quiet room, and had an email to confirm that, but the rooms are all paper thin and there was talking from below and side rooms, but like they were in my room! Could hear 'everything' everywhere. Constant dripping from outside (hasn't rained in months but it did much later that night, but dripping was before, so probably an over-flow above). Had to provide a chip & pin card and photo id, despite having already paid (never ever had that before). The hotel itself is very old, which isn't an issues. The most recent decor in public areas, which didn't really bother me, was from the 70s or so. Bed was like sleeping on a bouncy castle, or jelly.

Maybe the fact the lovely pool wasn’t 24/7 jokes aside .. overall great but please check the batteries in remotes as we struggled trying to work out the buttons on the back of the tv

Food offering but I'm sure this will improve with the new management

The standard of the room was shocking .some type of food smeared on the curtains dead beetle or some creature in the second draw down windows was filthy .The top window is safety concern of anyone was to walk down stairs below it would slice them open due to one unit being broken but still on double glazed unit .due to the nature of the room i didn't stop at the property that evening. And I will definitely not be stopping again .I was attending a wedding at another address and I told them about the room and they kindly made a bed up at the hotel within my mates address free of change .when I was telling the own about this one of the other members of the wedding party was stopping at the same address and said how dismal it was .

As soon as you walk in the hotel smells musty, the upstairs smelt strongly of paint on arrival.
The room (no 10) was pretty dire. There was a window into an other occupied hotel room directly opposite our window and way too close for comfort.
The curtains were too thin and did not block any early morning sunlight.
Carpet was at least 50 years old and very old fashioned
I have seen more updated bathrooms than this one ripped out and replaced. Reminded me of the 70s avocado style
Shower head wouldn't stay up unless held
The room was extremely small and only one bedside cabinet for a double bed
It was a very hot room, no fan or air con, bathroom radiator was on when we arrived - this was mid-June
Room lighting was poor and the mirror was not much use for getting ready
Plug sockets too far away from bed and mirror to be useful without an extension lead.
When we got back to the hotel after going to a wedding there were biscuits all over the stairs and the upstairs corridor where our room was stunk of cigarettes, weed and of course the original paint smell.
The hotel was noisy, you could easily hear voices and doors banging.
I wrote an email to the hotel who replied to say they would forward my complaint to head office. I heard nothing. I emailed
As the hotel again and have been ignored ever since.
The place is not fit to be advertising as a hotel, it is an abject dump!
