Location
Bit tiered
location fine . on main road , but not noisy. Bed clean and comfortable . Female member of staff on reception was helpful. There was a kettle and sachets of tea , coffee etc.
Although it had just been acquired , and was in need of decoration , could put up with that- it was cheaper than others- it needed to be cleaned - scrubbed- throughout . En suite needed cleaning - shower tray grubby -and had to ask for loo to .be cleaned under the seat . Carpet stained , and not hoovered well , stray bits of rubbish in bedside tables .
Convenient for Ragley Hall
Nothing
Location good for Alcester.
I booked 2 double rooms for 2 people. On arrival we were initially shown to a twin room for both parties. The room smelt damp and was very small. We were then offered a double room and the twin room. After further discussion we were given 2 double rooms which was what was booked. On leaving the property, there were no staff around and all entrance/exits were locked. This includes a door that gave access to a fire escape and could not be opened. This was very concerning as there was no way to exit the property in an emergency situation. We eventually managed to unbolt the front conservatory door to get out. There was no option to purchase breakfast, although all the information we read indicated that this could be done.
i know it was exceptional heat , but so was last year. The food was excellent we had Indian cuisine which was very nice. The staff especially the young lady who was our main point of contact and hostess was very good and polite.
We stayed there last year for the ABR biking festival, the hotel could invest in air conditioning as the fans didn’t keep us cool enough, and left the windows open to let fresh air in before we went to bed as i went to my mates bedroom to watch the football. when i got back to my room there was thousands of flies all over the bed and bathroom. the toilet and showers were clean and apart from the heat i slept well.
It suited our overnight objective for somewhere close to stay by the ABR festival
Only 1 member of staff there for our entire visit, going through changes, a mess in places
Nothing. I'm amazed this place is allowed guests
Everything. On arrival there was a member of staff sat outside picking his toes. We then went in to the bar area and that was minging and there was nobody there to check us in despite us hearing people. We shouted several times and someone came down in a vest then said he would go get someone else. The rooms were filthy with dirty sheets and pillow cases. The toilets downstairs smell was more than I could handle. The table we sat whilst waiting for our rooms was sticky. We were then informed they don't do breakfast but spent half an hour trying to convince us to have dinner there. They've only been there a month but that doesn't justify a lack of cleanliness.
Staff was polite
Hotel was dirty, rooms were dirty
The pub was very tired. Car park and surrounding area not well kept. Not the cleanest of rooms,
The food for the evening meal was very good.
The hotel was in mid reorganisation. It is being changed to an Indian restaurant so was a bit disorganised. We were kept awake as there was load discussions going on in the room above ours so had to go and ask them to keep quiet. This was at 01:45am. We had asked for breakfast at 8:15. When we arrived downstairs there was no one about so had to go and raise the staff by knocking on their room door. Luckily we were not in a hurry. Breakfast was fine when it arrived.
Cheap stay and friendly staff
Rooms could do with a little TLC
The location for ragley hakl
The pub was shut up on a Saturday night at 9.30 pm
Proximity for Midlands Air Festival
Barmaid we saw (briefly) on the Friday evening very polite and helpful as was the Chef.
Arrived back at 8pm on Saturday to find place closed (fortunately Barmaid had advised how to get in if back late when we arrived on Friday) Did not see any staff at all between Breakfast on Saturday Morning and leaving the following day. No Coffee available with breakfast, only one option (Full English) has to be ordered night before so unable to order on Saturday. Room could have done with a proper clean. Only two plug sockets in room. Fire exits were blocked with clutter. Access to the room through the bar was via a messy storage room
