I gave very short notice and all was ready.
Pros:

It was everything that you would expect and want for a quick overnight stay. Most important, a comfortable bed, a spotless shower and toilet suite

Over nighter.
Pros:

The close location to Close House Golf resort.
We were made very welcome by the locals and the staff.

Good for a 1 night stay while walking Hadrians Wall
Pros:

Good location in centre of village, very clean and friendly staff.

Cons:

Very small rooms, no where to sit except on the bed. Tiny bathroom. Very loud and noisy on Saturday night.

Nice, clean, functional room but bring your earplugs!

Cheery welcome from 4pm (pub not even open before that)
Very clean

Cons:

Small room and shower that you had to work as a team to navigate!
Loud voices and juke box from pub downstairs (as described to be fair)

Comfortable room and contained everything that we needed at a good price

Cons:

Although comfortable the room was very small. We could also hear the noise from from the bar downstairs (should have been expected as it was a pub). If you are walking Hadrians Wall using a luggage transport service you need to leave your bag at the local Spar. No breakfast or meal option. We requested breakfast from the bistro over the road where other some walkers were staying. Its over two miles to the Wall all downhill getting there.

Stop over for our Hadrian's Wall walk
Pros:

There was a bit of confusion re breakfast booking as to whether it was included... We ended up just popping to the well stocked & very friendly Spar next door.
Lovely authentic pizzeria just a few mins stroll down the lane.

Cons:

Room & ensuite very small for the price but cosy enough.
No food at the pub but we were OK with the pizzeria.
