Amazing location right in white town, very friendly and helpful staff, amazing in house hotel with one of the best pizza places in town.

They don't have a breakfast buffet and I'm adding this as something I like because they have an incredible plated south indian tiffen platter sourced from the awesome surguru restaurant nearby. And man the pizzas from their in house restaurant Ciro's was incredible. And the rooftop L'Atelier restaurant was also superb. We loved every single dish we tried with my favorite one being the quinoa bowl.

The staff are very polite and take their work seriously. My first impression was not good as shared in the what i didn't like section but I came to like the hotel purely because of the staff - Mahashree the receptionist when we checked in helped to find a new room for us very quickly and helped to share so many details about the sightseeing places and how ro get to them - we didn't have a vehicle with us so we really depended on the hotel to get us autos and cabs and I'm happy to say they went above and beyond here. They also impressed with little things like clearing out food plates which we left outside within minutes even with no intimation from us as they had seen it via the security feed.

Cons:

Property shows its age and needs a renovation badly. The room allocated to us first had an awful odour from the bathroom and while they initially said no rooms were free they managed to "find" one when I made a fuss and said I'll vacate the hotel immediately. Due to the very poor state of the so called canal outside there are thousands of mosquitoes around and while they've tried their best to control it, this is a losing battle. So forget any thoughts of a room with a view as you'd be keeping all windows tightly locked.
They really need to renovate the place as several stuff like the elevator, wash basins and power outlets are in poor condition. While it is clean and well maintained it is definitely showing its age.
I also didn't like the weird glass sealed opening near the top of the wall in every room - I believe it's a leftover item from an era of window ACs but they should seal it and make it light proof as it is near impossible to catch some sleep in the mornings once the sun hits this opening. Few of what I said here are low hanging items that would really spruce up the place so I hope the management is seeing this.

Pros:

Good location and spacious rooms. Very clean and friendly staff. Walkable distance from the beach and all the restaurants.

Cons:

Master bed was not very comfortable. It made too much noise and mattress wasn’t comfortable at all.

Memorable stay
Pros:

Staff was too good and polite. They take care of everything. Management was closely involved with all small requirements and service was on time. Highly recommended to the travelers.

Only good for a night stay without any expectation

They keep some eatable snacks in room for guests as complimentary.

Cons:

Breakfast is very basic and more like hostel, fixed menu, not buffet. Not tasty at all. For South Indian Breakfast, they arrange it from nearby restaurant. Continental breakfast is made in roof top restaurant, but it doesn't make you feel good about food. Rooms they have allocated didn't have a single window and it feels like prison without any natural light.

Pros:

Had a wonderful 2-night stay at Palais De Pondichéry with my family. The highlight for us was definitely the spacious and comfortable rooms, which made the stay very relaxing especially while travelling with a toddler and elderly parent.

The breakfast spread was excellent and well-maintained, with good quality food and enough variety for vegetarians as well. The overall ambience of the property was calm, clean, and family-friendly.

A special appreciation to the staff as well — everyone was courteous, welcoming, and very supportive throughout our stay. Their hospitality genuinely made the experience even more pleasant and comfortable for our family.

The location is also very convenient for exploring White Town and the beach areas comfortably.

Overall, a very pleasant and relaxing stay in Pondicherry. Would definitely recommend for families looking for comfort and a peaceful experience.

Cons:

One small area for improvement would be the TV clarity in the room, as the display quality was slightly blurry during our stay.
