Pros:

Beautiful hotel in the middle of Appenzell, the self check-in was very convenient and the staff were happy to arrange a late check-in. The room is rustic but well maintained with good facilities. The view was lovely with the bells of the town. The lift is an experience!

Cons:

The rooms could benefit from a fan in the summer months.

Restful stay in a beautiful, clean, generous hotel.
Pros:

Hotel Hecht is beautiful: spotlessly clean, gleaming hardwood floors and woodwork, decorated with art that reflects Appenzell. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was generous, and we especially enjoyed the varieties of Appenzell cheese available. The hotel is an easy walk from the train station, which makes it a great jumping off point for hiking the region or just enjoying the lovely town. Much has been said about the church bells, but we found they didn't disturb our sleep, and we enjoyed regularly hearing a part of Swiss/Appenzell history.

Drfineitly recommend
Pros:

Loved our room here. Great staff and good breakfast. The tourist card they give you is awesome and gives free train, bus, and gondola tickets. Everything is walking distance here.
