We would not return
Pros:

We liked the location.

Cons:

The accommodation was disappointing and appears to be in considerable need of maintenance and refurbishment.
The bed was extremely uncomfortable, sagging and very low to the ground. The shared bathroom facilities were very basic and in poor condition, with peeling paint and generally low-quality finishes.
The kitchen facilities were also disappointing. In particular, the microwave was extremely dirty, with old, caked-on food splattered throughout the interior. There were no clothes hangers provided and nowhere practical to store or place luggage.
The property itself is in dire need of some TLC. The balcony is in poor condition, and there are numerous untreated and weathered floorboards throughout the property. The air conditioning was also inefficient and struggled to adequately heat the room.
Overall, the property feels tired, poorly maintained and in need of significant attention. Given the condition of the facilities, the accommodation did not provide the standard of comfort or cleanliness that I would reasonably expect.

The Exchange Hotel Pingelly - Avoid
Pros:

The location is the only thing about this property that met my expectations.

Cons:

The biggest #%%* with the property is that it is nothing like the pictures. I don’t like bagging struggling businesses in the bush but the proprietors here are taking the piss. It looks like the owner has started renovations and ran out of money.

The kitchen and common areas are filthy. The gender neutral shower and toilet aren’t up to any minimum standard. The beautiful balcony area isn’t accessible to guests.

Then the room. The furniture looks like it was purchased from Good Sammy’s, no coat hangers, no garbage. Have a good look at the bed in the photos. I’ve seen better beds on roadside pickups; I was unable to sleep and got out of the bed worse for wear.

Sadly for the town of Pingelly we probably won’t chose to stay in this hotel again.
Pros:

The location was central for our purpose. Off road parking.

Cons:

The fridge in the communal kitchen was filthy, mouldy, and old food left. Someone else’s half eaten breakfast was still in the communal sink when we arrived at 5pm. No spoons or coffee mugs were provided.
There were no pillowcases on the pillows. Staff appeared annoyed that we asked for them. Friends we were travelling with had to be put in another room as theirs had not been made up.
One unisex shower and one unisex toilet with no extra toilet paper to provide amenities for 10 rooms in the upstairs wing with the potential for 20 people was stretching the ‘shared facilities’ status.
TV didn’t work despite pushing all the buttons in different combinations.
Despite a small light above the key code lock at the top of the steep fire escape stairs, that was our only access, we needed our headlamp to read the key pad.
The rest of the town looks like it is trying to improve its image but this hotel has a long way to go.

Das historische Gebäude war sehr ansprechend, wenn auch in die Jahre gekommen.

Cons:

Schade war, dass sowohl die Zapfanlage im Restaurant defekt und Ananas "leider aus" war.

Very disturbingly loud and definitely stick your day job singers!
Pros:

The property is where I need to be. Good location.

Cons:

My room was backing on the rear yard where they had Karaoke on to about 11pm! Really, really loud but worst of all….they were all ridiculously terrible singers. All of them!
Also, there was no body wash in the showers and there was no milk to have a cuppa or some breakfast with the next morning.

reasonable accommodation but for the price the amenities were not worth it.
Pros:

We had a main meal at the Hotel which was more than adequate. large serving and very good selection. The beer was cold and the locals were friendly (although a little loud in the early morning)

Cons:

The communication for booking and general enquiries was virtually non existent and became very annoying even though everything turned out okay. it was a bit of a trial to get some things organised (we travelled in a group of 19)

We found the accommodation expensive for what it was.
Pros:

Evening meal was good wholesome pub grub.

Cons:

There were only two toilets and two showers for 16 rooms. No hand basins in the toilets. Breakfast choices were very limited cereals only and no fruit or yoghurt and there was no bread for toast. Instant coffee powder only slightly resembled coffee!
No fruit juices and the drinking water dispenser was empty.

Don't expect a good night's sleep!
Pros:

Pingelly is a nice little town with lovely old buildings. The Exchange Hotel was once a very grand building and remnants of its former glory persist.

Cons:

The bar downstairs was filled with incredibly noisy people. It was a Saturday evening, so some noise was expected, but this was not 'normal' levels of noise - there were people yelling well past 1am, after which time they moved outside and continued screaming ang yelling up and down the street. It's great that the owners have attempted to renovate this old pub, but if offering accommodation to tourists, there should be some consideration given to guests who are trying to sleep.
The bed was very comfortable, but broken and boarded up windows, stained carpets, and the lack of a 'Reception' gave a poor impression.
