Brilliant location, wonderful character building.
Our room was located near the Victoria pub that does live music so was noisey. Only until 11pm though.
In a fabulous location, close to the Castle & Cathedral!
Comfortable bed, good bed linen & towels
Beautiful bar & lounge area
The hotel is being renovated, some rooms have been completed. We had an upgrade which gave us a sitting area as well as the large en-suite. But it seemed old fashioned & in need of an update
The breakfast was continental, which was good, but running short on available food by the time we sat down at 9.00am.
The bar was closed at 9.00pm, which was such a disappointment, we would have loved to sit in the beautiful lounge area to enjoy a drink after our evening out.
Comfortable bed and good shower.
Breakfast limited to continental only
Great central position, very good staff. Fantastic shower and comfortable bed.
Not the hotel's fault but there was a good deal of noise from street, particularly the pub across the road. Intrusive noise from other guests also, slamming doors, banging around upstairs. The hotel is a bit tired but frankly, this was expected and at its price level, good value.
Location and staff were great
Rooms comfortable and nicely furnished. New carpet wouldn’t go a miss.
Plenty of choice and easy to serve yourself our grandson woke early when he heard a door bang loudly no lock on bathroom door which we found strange.
Bathroom door should have had a lock on it .
It was decorated nice. The rooms were nice. The mattresses were comfy and so was the pillows.
The breakfast area was very small and you felt like you were squashed in and not very comfortable chairs I think a lot of people felt the same . Disturbed sleep from the plants being watered unsure if it was the council or a contractor with a machine going to feed the hose pipe for 20 minutes and that went onto 11:30 at night Wednesday evening. 26 August . Then you had which sounded like bins being emptied at 4:20 in the morning. I think this was probably the Council so it was really unreasonable because it was right outside the hotel so not much sleep. I think it’s not appropriate to water flowers at 11:30 at night and at 4:30 AM to have the bins collected
The location was great
The bed was comfortable
Staff were friendly and chatty
Power shower
Breakfast was nice
Luggage storage
Dining room abit small but a good variety of continental breakfast.
Next to the castle
I had to pay to parking my car, cost me £28 for2 nights.
It was a nice area
The room looked like it was 100 years old and the images on here did not give an accurate representation
Lovely hotel we have stayed before, great location...
Very noisy, pub right outside my window that played loud music late and the boiler or something seemed to come on at 6am, I was knackered...
Location
The loud music on the Saturday night from an outdoor dj, we were advised it would be done by 8pm, however it was 9pm
Everything was perfect!
