This was a second night stay in the same week. Our room was nicer overlooking the front.
Again did not eat or drink there so cannot comment on the food.
Very convenient for strolling into town, catching the train, etc..
It was fine for what we wanted.
We arrived early and were offered a drink while we waited for the room which was a nice gesture appreciated in the heat. The room was fine. We did not eat there so cannot comment on the food but it seems quite popular.
Very good central location.
Just to mention the rooms are up two flights of stairs. We were helped with our luggage but this may be a problem to some.
Excellent location.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful,
Food in restaurant very good
Nothing specific - be aware as an old property there are a lot of stairs but ground floor rooms are available.
A soft easy chair in the bedrooms would be a bonus.
The lady who served our breakfast was great and very helpful
The evening we arrived was hot and one member of staff was complaining about what a tough day it was for her. As customers we don’t need to know.
Great room and lovely location
All was good
helpful saff
narrow stairs
We stopped off here on the way up to Scotland. Every member of staff we met was very welcoming and smiley which was lovely.
It's a beautiful building, and our room was cosy. The bed was comfortable and the shower had great pressure. Lovely view across the square. The location was perfect, right in the centre of town and public car parks just behind the hotel. We particularly loved how sweet the staff were with our dog! When having breakfast in the morning they brought her some sausage too :)
We would recommend getting breakfast at the hotel, it was fab.
We'd stay here again on our next road trip!
It really was lovely, but if I'm being picky a couple of things in the room could do with a slightly deeper clean, for example the tv remote and carpets, but it really wasn't bad at all!
Great location, rooms large and beds comfy
Shame no air con but effective blinds to keep out sun
Breakfast was great and the young lady very polite. We have stayed at 'The Borough' numerous times in a number of rooms, with very few issues. It is in a great location in the centre of Lancaster within walking distance of the centre shops, railway station, and Lancaster Castle a great place to visit
The bathroom/wetroom in our room was adapted to cater for disabled persons. We found the floor to be wet over a large area after showering, something that we have not experienced before. The soap dispenser in the shower area of the wetroom was loose making it challenging to use. The room had 2 windows, one opening directly onto the front pavement and the second opening onto the pub courtyard/outdoor seating area, at feet level. As a consequence we found ventilation of the room to be an issue. The T.V spent most of the time Saying ' Aerial Cable: No signal' meaning that we were unable to watch very much at all.Our room was separate from the main Pub so whether it was a distance issue we were unsure. When we checked out at the end of our stay the young lady failed to establish if we had enjoyed our visit.
Large, comfortable and very clean room with a splendidly big bed. Wet room was great, though it could have done with a shelf for toiletries etc. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Central location staff really friendly, our room was very comfortable. Food delicious. Recommend

Absolutely lovely.
We would have benefited from air con
Great bathroom and comfy bed. Staff are friendly and helpful.
It could do with a lick of paint. The furniture and walls all look a bit tired.
Harry! Fantastic member of staff. So helpful and friendly. His service was second to none.
Friendly helpful staff and good food.
Very hot weather but no AC in the room. we found that very uncomfortable.
