Pros:

Good breakfast. Lovely surroundings

Cons:

It was stiflingly hot (no one's fault) and the room would have benefited from a fan,

Good for one night, but I would not recommend staying longer.
Pros:

The general building and gardens were excellent. The dining room was very nice (a beautiful room for breakfast). Also, the breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and receptive. The room was excptionally clean.

Cons:

For a 4 star hotel, there were many aspects that were more like 2-star. For example, in the bathroom, many tiles were cracked. In the bedroom, in places (near the window), the paint was falling off. The ironing board has a big stain. When we stayed, the weather was excellent (30 degrees). However, the room had no ventillation (windows could not open more than a small amount and there was no air con). We did have a fan, but the heat was unbearable. Furthermore, the shower did not work. There appeared to be no cold water. Luckily, there was a bath in the bathroom.

Its a shame as we liked the location due to family visits but not particularly great especially whe
Pros:

The room was OK but very dated, the TV was last century and small it was a big room. The decor needed refreshing. The location was great as we travelled to see family who live 8 mins away.

Cons:

Breakfast was poor all round, no black pudding which I was looking forward to, bacon was over cooked, egg was over cooked all in all not great at all. There had been a wedding on and it seemed that normal guests were not correctly catered for, breakfast when received was just warm and took far too long to come out.

A lovely stay from start to finish
Pros:

We stayed here for one evening with my parents and our dog on our way home from Cornwall and had a lovely stay. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches for our dog, especially the water bowl and bag of treats in our room. It’s a comfortable hotel with excellent service. We’d happily stay again.
