Ventanas en Corcovado

What a special, wonderful gem hidden at the border at the Corcovado National Park. If you are here a visit at the NP is not necessary. The family who runs the business is the most kind we've met in Costa Rica. Nothing was too much to ask and we had very delicious breakfasts and dinners. The whole stay was custom made. It felt like a home we didn't want to leave.

The bedrooms have good nets at the window. You will fall asleep with every sound of nature, so relaxing. Because of that you don't need much luxury.

We did a night-tour with Brayan, and it was awesome! Next level and maybe the best tour we had through our whole stay. He has a sharp eye and his determination is beyond borders. The birding at the lodge whas amazing with every day a new surprise.

Die Unterkunft ist mitten in der Natur und bereits beim Grundstück kommen manchmal Affen vorbei, es gab in der Nacht Schlangen und Frösche zu sehen und viele Vögel. Die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich und bemühen sich, dass man einen angenehmen Aufenthalt hat und die Tiere findet, die man gerne sehen möchte. Das Essen war gut, die Kissen bequem und der Ventilator angenehm leise. Wir haben in unserer Zeit wirklich viele tolle Tiere sehen können (alle möglichen Affenarten, Ameisenbär, Nasenbären, Pfeilgiftfrösche, Potoo, Kolibris, Buckelwale...) - unter anderem dank unseren guten Guides von der Unterkunft selbst.

It was our sixth trip to Costa Rica, and I can honestly say we have never met such outstanding hosts. Rocio and Carlos are exceptional. Rocio prepared delicious, healthy breakfasts and dinners every single day—so good that I happily abandoned any idea of staying on a diet. Carlos’s help with spotting wildlife was incredible, and the night walk with Bryan was remarkably productive.
If there was anything negative, it’s only that our stay was too short. Two days weren’t enough, and next time we will definitely stay much longer.
I also noticed a previous review mentioning limited power outlets or dim lighting. In our experience, the common area has plenty of outlets and everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
And it is definitely bird paradise.

De locatie aan ‘het eind van de wereld’. De plek is prachtig, de tuin mooi, het eten van Rosa is buitengewoon lekker (lokaal, vers en zelfgebakken brood). Carlos is een fantastische gids die elk vogeltje, dier etc met z’n Arendsoog spot. Niets is hen teveel. ‘S ochtends om 5 uur ontbijten? Dat kan. ‘S avonds om
19 uur eten? Kan ook. Mensen met het hart op de goede plek en een fijn gezin dat samen de ‘zaak’ runt (met zoon Bryan). Ik zou zeggen: meteen boeken!

Famille très accueillante et sympathique, disponible pour discuter et pour donner quelques conseils. Le petit déjeuner est très conséquent et diversifié, pris dans une salle ouverte sur la forêt avec oiseaux et papillons, .... La proximité de la végétation est vraiment très agréable.

Very serene and peaceful location. Great people looking after you; like you are part of the family. Meals were great and tour guide Brayan was awesome.

Familiere Atmosphäre

Unique location - hotel is almost located in the forest. Absolutely quiet. Very hospitable hosts. Great breakfast.

L'hébergement est situé au calme au milieu de la nature. Il est simple mais Carlos et sa femme sont très accueillants et sympathiques.
On a fait réalisé belles excursions au Parc du Corcovado à la Sirena et La Leona avec Carlos comme guide. Il est formidable, apparemment tout le monde le connaît et l'apprécie. Il nous a fait découvrir beaucoup de choses et d'animaux.
Je recommande !

L'accueil de toute la famille

Les propriétaires et leur fils Bryan ce dernier se révèle un guide passionné et passionnant, réservé le sans hésitation.
La Mamam de Bryan une perle , toujours de bonne humeur et de plus peut vous faire à manger le soir , ce qui est très pratique après les journées de découverte. Le papa et propriétaire des lieux est très souriant , tous sont tout prêts à vous être agréable. Je leur souhaite que le meilleur pour le futur.

Ventanas is a former conservation station and you can see why. The communal area is surrounded by jungle and singing birds. The family who run the hotel couldn’t be more genuine. Their love of birds is infectious and they will do all they can to make your stay special. Hands down the best place I’ve ever stayed.

Food: both breakfast and evening meals, outstanding and value for money. Nice atmosphere and practical advice. Fast internet if you need, reasonably good road access.

Carlos and his family were lovely, we had a wonderfull stay in the middle of the rain forest. You have breakfast next to Toucans, Aracaris etc. And Carlos explained all flora + fauna around 👍👍👍
Great breakfast and dinner. The rooms are very clean, there is basic equipment but everything you need. Beds are very comfortable.
We would definitely stay there again.
