Very clean excellent facilities , polite staff, good food.
Air con brilliant
Nothing all good
It’s a very quickly older building. Made me think of where dirty dancing was filmed. Lots of different rooms.
The staff were lovely particularly the receptionist who checked us in on Thursday. But all the staff are great!
Rooms are a little dated but that added to the charm
Breakfast was fresh and staff friendly, room looked over the bay and air conditioning, grounds lovely ..
The location, and ‘traditional’ vibe.
One of the bar staff. The app used to order food and drink at your table is great, and it has a section for ‘notes’. On two orders I asked for some ice with my drink. I wasn’t at the table the first time drinks arrived with no ice, so I asked for ice when the next drink was delivered, explained I had asked on the app, only to have a huge huff from the waitress and the bar chit thrust in my face( not showing the note re ice) clearly an issue the app not translating the note to the bar, which I explained, but to be ‘huffed ‘ at next to other customers and treated like this was by someone who, even if the owner family member, should not be in hospitality.
We felt well cared for and appreciated.
It was old fashioned but not worn out.
The food could have been better.
Absolutely stunning location overlooking the sea with a small but functional outdoor pool and paddling pool. Lots of places to sit in comfort both inside and outside. Excellent facilities tennis courts/ inside pool/ snooker / kids outdoor playgrounds/ soft play room . All at no extra cost . Staff are welcoming , kind and professional. My only thought was the tea trays we would have liked some bottled water and hot chocolate for the room / perhaps expected better tea grade than tetly given cost of room? English breakfast and or decaf tea would have been lovely. Good choice of biscuits though !!! Love that there is air conditioning in the rooms - much needed these last few nights. Food is pricey however very good quality and available at most times including room service note the £5 per tray. We loved this hotel true mixture of old fashioned charm with modern hospitality. We came and stayed Saturday night and then used their facilities as it was so hot the girls loved the outdoor pool.
When you book through booking.com breakfast is not included additional cost of £15 per person feels harsh after spending £229 on a room. Plus as above see tea trays !
Breakfast was in the top class of its type (traditional English breakfast), location was superb with some high quality hotel features such as inside & outside pools and a comfortable lounge. Quite a spacious room.
Curtains were not blackouts or even nearly so, so it was hard to stay asleep in the morning.
No lift was seen. There was a genuine old-fashioned air about the hotel which many seniors would appreciate- but not youngsters. It was expensive.
Location, food, drink, facilities
