TV didn’t work
The Midland is a beautiful hotel with the most comfortable beds and the best amenities.
The only negative was because our room was facing Peter’s Street there was quite a lot of noise coming from the street and local bars until the early hours.
Staff great , room nice, bed comfortable, room restocked and cleaned well, atrium area spectacular , bar area very nice , again staff very friendly and attentive in fact we saw nothing but great customer service throughout . Great location for the city centre and being so close to the tram stop. Hotel clearly has lots of history.
We thought that the floor we were on 4th, when coming out of the lift was dull and tired with acres of beige . Looked a bit like fading past grandeur. Very odd offputting smell in the lifts .
The outside looked lovely
I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before booking the Midland in Manchester. Our stay was quite frankly awful from start to finish. The building itself was in a poor state of repair. It was clear that maintenance has been seriously neglected. To make matters worse, There was a persistent damp smell throughout that made the stay thoroughly unpleasant. However, the biggest disappointment was the attitude of the staff. They were shockingly rude and appeared to have no understanding of how to speak or treat guest with basic courtesy and respect. This is simply not acceptable in any hospitality setting. The situation was poor enough that we requested and received a full refund before leaving. We would not return under any circumstances and cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.
Perfect location. Beautiful building. Great professional staff. Lovely room service and breakfast.
Breakfast was superb, excellent coffee, hot breakfast and lots of choice.
Room smelt a little musty
Clean and very tidy
Everything was as expected
We liked the hotel the breakfast and comfort of the hotel
The room unfortunately wasn’t as up to scratch as our previous visits
We have stayed at the midland many times and unfortunately this time the room was not as well done as previous rooms the decor was ruff round the edges
The shower was poor it was more like a hand held head rather than a head made for a full body shower it just was not comfortable to shower in
What a delightful luxurious hotel. From the minute you get there and see the rolls Royce at the door you know you are in real luxury. There is a truly delightful smell in the lobby - all clean and spa like. Rooms are designed beautifully. Clean and comfortable beds. The bar is amazing with great wines. Warm and friendly staff.
Rooms can be a little warm in the summer
The facilities are beautiful, the room was comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was wonderful!
Nothing. We had a wonderful time.
Stayed many times at this elegant hotel for its location and service
Reception and bar staff were very helpful, the building and facilities are fantastic.
Had trouble with the air-conditioning in our room, only stayed one night and although we did hight light this to reception, we never saw the maintenance people in the 24 hors we were there. On check out mention this issue, we were given a discount, thank you Midland.
