Carpets rrally dirty and baths has no.plugs. bathrooms not in good shape. Rather dirty.
The location was fantastic. 3 minute walk to the Damascus Gate (Old City). There was no “staff,”but the man that greeted us and slept on the couch all night did a phenomenal job of helping out a person that was sick during her stay. He was extremely friendly and helpful and we loved that.
The property is sort of expensive for what you actually get. A very plain room (sort of a hostel) that is old, and not that clean. The breakfast was pretty limited.

The hotel owner was nice.
The room I stayed in was not very clean. There was no remote control for the air conditioner, only the one on the wall, which only worked on and off, and sometimes the air conditioner was turned off during the night by someone I don't know. There was only one socket in the room, which was far from the bed, and when I wanted to charge my electronic devices, sometimes that socket didn't have good contact, as if it didn't have electricity all the time.

The hotel is really well situated in the Palestinian part of Jerusalem, only 100 meters from the Herod Gate into the Old City.
The very gracious manager Hussain Rayan went out of his way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Can't thank him enough for that!
The breakfast is plentiful with both Western and Arabic favorites.
The area around the hotel is bustling with shops, kiosks and restaurants. As we went there in a time of unrest, this location was very fortunate for us, since a lot of those were closed in the western (Jewish) part of town when we went exploring there. We would have starved had we stayed there!
