Disapointing
Pros:

Breakfast acceptable for meat eater. A vegan breakfast was requested but not delivered. There was no additional vegan options, offered 3 options from main breakfast and received a small portion of mushrooms, 2 small potato scones and one tomato.
Not value for money

Cons:

The location and main house were beautiful. The cottage was run down and badly maintained, the inside was nicely furnished but a chair and set of drawers both broken.
The cleanliness was poor, lots dead flies in the blinds and generally dusty and lots of cobwebs

Great house, a little pricy
Pros:

Beautiful grounds, room was not in the main house, that was a little disappointing. Service was fantastic. House was lovely, beds were ok. Bathroom ok. The food was good, but severely overpriced.

Asked for food at 7.30 for my 14 year old and was beliitted. "This is a 2 rossette star restraunt sir. We dont do burgers"
Asked for draft beers. "Dont do draft"
Staff seemed overwhealmed at mealtime
Beds not split and was a big deal for them
Felt like they were just cashing in on NC500 transient tourists
Very STUFFY in all senses of the word. Got a free drink due to the 2 hour inconvenience with the room heat

Pros:

Beautiful standalone house backing onto a waterfall. Tastefully decorated, very spacious (spans 3 floors) and beds were very comfortable.

Cons:

We were separate to the main house in the Kiln House so didn't see the staff except at check in and check out. Nor did we have the opportunity to see / use any facilities in the main house as we didn't opt for breakfast. Since the lodge felt like an Airbnb, it would be good to include a kettle and a microwave at least so customers can just self cater.

A super relaxing stay
Pros:

Loved the location. A short walk to the waterfall with a lovely outlook. The staff were super friendship and very helpful. To mention names Adrian and Janet. We had a brilliant evening meal and breakfast- 10 stars for the chef- sorry i didn’t ask for his/ her name.
The bed was super comfy, room spacious and overall a relaxing experience. Thank you!

We lived the tranquil and private location, 10 minutes outside of Thurso.

Cons:

There was nothing that we didn’t enjoy about our stay at Forss House, apart from the brevity of our stay.

Charming Old Manor House, with great Bar and leather lounges. We stayed in a spacious workers cottage a short walk from the Manor House, with a beautiful stream and waterfall outside our windows. A relaxing 3 night stay.
