Comfortable room, but disappointing for the price – particularly the £50 dog charge
Pros:

The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable and the large shower was excellent in terms of space.

Cons:

We paid £76 for the room for two adults, plus an additional £50 for our two dogs. On arrival we were asked to sign an agreement covering a number of rules relating to having dogs at the property, including using a “dog in room” sign on our door. However, no sign was actually provided.
Despite advertising as dog friendly and charging £25 per dog, nothing at all was provided for them – not even a water bowl. For a £50 additional charge, we expected the hotel to offer at least some basic dog-friendly facilities rather than simply permitting dogs to stay.
We were also disappointed that the bar, advertised as being open until 12:30am, was closed early because the hotel was quiet. The hot water in our room was only lukewarm, which was particularly frustrating given that the bathroom itself had a lovely large rainfall shower.
Unfortunately, at a total cost of £126 for one night, the overall experience didn't represent good value for us and we wouldn't choose to stay again.

Nice decor but falls down badly on service
Pros:

The internal decor has clearly been upgraded recently - the rooms are lovely
Breakfast was excellent

Cons:

Our shower was cold - the supply is clearly inadequate as it went from tepid to freezing over a couple of minutes
Dinner was awful - hardly any choice and what there was was not good. So called ‘freshly battered fish and chips’ turned out frozen breaded grey fish
Sadly staff training was completely absent - friendly kids running the place basically. When I asked for manager I was told ‘there isn’t one’ !?!

A great hotel and felt very welcome and wish we could have stayed longer.
Pros:

We had evening meal in the hotel the carbonara was amazing the best i had ever tasted . Staff were very friendly and loved to have a chat . Bedroom was massive and wish we stayed longer .

Pros:

I had requested a twin room through booking.com but received a message to say that was not possible, however when we arrived I mentioned it at reception and a lovely girl knocked on the door and twinned the room for us.

Not a negative but was clearly undergoing some renovation work

Lovely rooms and great food.
Pros:

Our room was very large. A great bed. The breakfast options are wonderful. We ate in the hotel restaurant each night, and it was very good. The steak pie was a treat.

Cons:

I didn't know the hotel does not have a lift, otherwise I would have asked for a ground-floor room. There is plenty of room for a small fridge and a small table between the chairs.

Das Hotel wird gerade renoviert, was nirgendwo erwähnt wird. Das Bett war extrem hart, im Bad fehlen Ablageflächen. Außerdem wurden 50 Pfund auf der Kreditkarte blockiert für das Zimmer, die immer noch nicht zurück gekommen sind
