Convenient to Spiez downtown
Self late check in but it worked well because the staff responded to the late text and call. Thank you for doing that
Fijn kamertje, mooi balkon met goed uitzicht
Airco deed het niet. En minimale faciliteiten
Lage war gut. Direkt am See
Der Rolladen war defekt
Lautes Ticken von Stromzähler
Unbequemes Bett
Treppenhaus stinkt
The beautiful beach and landscapes open up right outside the hotel. Transportation links are perfect as the marina and a bus stop are right next to the property, which make the train station quickly accessible. The beds were very comfortable, the bedding felt luxuriously plush and we highly appreciated the extra blanket found in the closet so I didn't have share with a teenager.
I had read with horror from Google reviews before our trip that the apartments don't have toilet doors, which was an alarming detail. Luckily our room had a door, though it was indeed missing from the lower floor single apartment where my adult child stayed. The self-service check-in worked well and allowed for a flexible arrival late in the evening. Our apartment was also equipped with a coffee maker and coffee while a single room had a kettle.
Even though we received instructions we still had to search for the entrance and the exact location of the keys upon arrival. The bathroom was old whereas some photos showed updated versions, the listed bathtub was missing completely and the balcony photos shown online were not from our room as the direct lake view was blocked by adjacent apartments and partition walls. Stuck in past decades, the dead flowers on the balcony along with a single chair and faded sun lounger and pillow.
Unfortunately the hotel's marketing is partly misleading since not all rooms include a balcony; our double room had one but my child's single room had the neighbor's balcony right outside the window where they dried clothes and walked past meaning my child could not keep the curtains open or enjoy the view. Guests are also treated unequally regarding room amenities and the lack of coffee cups was a major flaw since the only glassware provided for hot drinks were wine glasses.
The bathroom lacked a bath mat and towel hooks. The only soap provided was a half-empty bottle of cheap hand soap. There is no AC and the portable fan was not enough to cool the room down. Trying to ventilate the room with a cross-breeze was a bad idea as neighbors smoked on the balcony right behind the bathroom window.
The soundproofing was not very good, and there were noisy guests on the lower floor. Because of the loud noise my adult child was even scared at times to walk alone in the staircase. There were also open doors on the floors marked "Privat" and a strong smell of food spread from them at times. Due to the lack of communication from the hotel we did not know if these were shared kitchen spaces open to all guests - something we would have appreciated especially if we could have quickly warmed up a meal or kept something in a fridge.
No staff members were seen during our entire stay except for a cleaner. Messages was in German and there was no one to ask about bike rentals.
Easy check in/out. Great location. Nothing special, but a good cheaper option for the area.
Room said balcony, but the only way out was through a window.
Het bed
Geen kast om kleding op te bergen en geen haakjes om bv je jas op te hangen, en de drukke weg vlak onder je ramen
Nice location, comfortable bed, room was big enough. There were minor inconveniences but I was grateful to find a good enough accomodation within my budget.
Kitchen items were pretty dirty, hurt my foot on a dent on the bathroom flooring, one of the window handles was broken.
The location
Not soundproof rooms, we could hear the neighbors all the time especially in the morning, no air conditioning, and also we called one of the phone numbers for help but no one answered or called back
Le cadre extérieur, le calme
Difficile a trouver l'entrée et la démarche trouver pour les chambres
