Excellent cleanliness
Location
Only downside even though it was a budget room and the windows open , no fan
The club house and bar were modern and clean
Lack of air conditioning
Rooms that require modernisation
Old soap dispenser not functioning
Cracked bath
Poor breakfast offering- cold and not replenished
Room was lovely well furnished very comfortable & presented
Nothing to complain about
Maybe look at having fans available when experiencing hot weather
All staff were really helpful
Location was primary reason for booking this hotel
Photos do not represent the room condition
Hotel is tired and needs a good paint
Room had four moths inside when we arrived and a really musty smell
Extra charge for using gym which wasn't mentioned in the booking
The staff were very friendly, plentiful parking. Good to have a bar on site
We booked a "suite" and expected the room to be of a reasonable quality. There was nothing to make this room a "suite" rather than just a double room. The shower was above the bath and I would have expected a separate cubicle, the furniture was marked and old, standard TV channels, no Netflix or similar. The worst part about this accommodation was how tired the decor was, both leading up to the room and once inside - paint chipped off walls etc. This was really not of acceptable quality. No iron in the room, no safe, not even a pack of biscuits!
Facilities and location
The people in the next room talking as loud as they could at 6 o'clock in the morning.
Location is ideal for attending a wedding at Clearwell Castle. Also for exploring the area
There is a vibe in the “bar/ members lodge” that isn’t exactly welcoming for visitors.
Excellent location, spotlessly clean room, helpful and friendly staff
Location for our visit to puzzlewwood..less than a mile away..staff were nice and friendly. Large room, great shower with ample hot water
Furniture in room was old and tired looking, the dining chair my daughter sat on had 2 big rips on the seat..noise from other guests outside the room after midnight was annoying and despite requesting the room he made up as a twin room both via booking.com and on the phone it hadn't.it was changed fast enough without any issues but I shouldn't have had to ask..no biscuits with the tea and coffee facilities! 😉
Lovely bar area and food was really nice
the soundproofing between the rooms is awful
A comfortable room and a restaurant with good lighting for reading
Close to puzzlewood nice area.
Room was far to small for the price. The bed was popping with springs. Lamp only on one side of the bed. Shower did not stay up at height kept falling down the pole.
The location if the hotel was great
The Booking.com images did not reflect this dated room at all.
This squashed room was stuck in the 80s with no work done on the room since then. The sticky carpet felt like we had to wear our shoes all the time whilst in the room.
Why did their photos of the hotel not display this type of their rooms??
Room was better than our last visit and the beds were very comfortable. Did not like the Shower in the high bath. Can be a bit noisy with golfers, but that is to be expected
Would have preferred a walk-in shower
