A nice place to stay close to Forest of Dean MTBing
Pros:

Good location for cycling at Forest of Dean. Big car park which felt safe and secure. All the staff we interacted with were great.

Cons:

Cold tap in bathroom ran scoldingly hot for several minutes before it got cold which was annoying and inconvenient. The room decor was a bit tired especially the bathroom.

An upstairs room with views over the golf course would have been superb.
Pros:

Room very comfortable and presented well. A very good breakfast in the super location of the golf clubhouse. The situation of the hotel is excellent being surrounded by the golf course and in an elevated location with views.

Great food but needs a refurb.
Pros:

Great location, the restaurant was excellent. Lovely atmosphere.

Cons:

I was in room 26, which is a single room on the ground floor. Apparently some of the family rooms have been upgraded and are excellent but my room was certainly not. The downstairs needs a refurb - it’s worlds apart from the restaurant!

Okay stay for one night
Pros:

Room/bathroom was clean and bed was comfy.

Cons:

Customer service could’ve been better - on arrival we were quoted the balance for the room and after payment went through we were handed our key and told to go down the corridor. That was all the communication we received. The dog friendly room was quite small for two plus a dog and it was incredibly hot. There were a pair of old socks remaining on the radiator in the room when we got there. Also, you had to run the cold water tap for quite a while before it would turn from really hot to cold.
