Nice old school place. Don’t expect a 5 star stay. Everything was good, friendly staff. Close to transportation. I would return.
The very comfortable bed and space
Sky train noise
Very interesting place to stay. Close to Sky train so convenient but also a bit loud.
I loved this place! And an authentic heritage hotel. It brings you back to 1920. The owner was so warm and welcoming. I wish I could have stayed longer. I'll definitely stay here again!
1. The place is truly unique, you can immerse yourself in the last century.
2. Lots of space, it's essentially an apartment with a bedroom and a living room.
3. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and cooking utensils, very convenient when traveling with children.
4. Price. This was the cheapest offer for our dates.
5. We were checked in two hours early, for which we are very grateful to the hotel staff.
6. The staff is very polite, we received a bottle of wine as a compliment from the hotel.
7. The building is ancient, there are lots of interesting little things, doors, etc. In my opinion, this is a great place for a quest room.
1. There was very dirty. Guys, hire a normal cleaner and let him show you how to clean! If there is dust as thick as a finger on an antique radiator, it creates the feeling of old furniture, not an antique. There was a lot of dust on the windowsill and other places. There were also dried stains on the upholstered furniture. There were streaks on the mirrors. The bathtub had stains from detergent that hadn't been flushed properly. The area under the toilet was also dirty. All of this made the room look very untidy and didn't create the feeling described in the hotel description. 2. The metro ran right next to our windows, making it really noisy. 3. The floors creaked a lot. 4. There were broken items that needed to be either fixed or thrown out: chipped dishes, missing handles on the dresser, and a burnt-through tablecloth. 5. The room description didn't match. It said it had a view of the river and mountains, which wasn't even close. This is a big minus for lying. 6. Cons: Very dirty. Guys, hire a normal cleaner and let him show you how to clean! Super comfortable rooms. The host downstairs was lovely and treated me really well. Best part? You basically get a whole apartment for the price of a hotel room. Definitely staying again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

They have no door in washroom building old hard to open door with key
Location is great. Free parking too.
Bed was terrible. Squeaky floors, smells in hallways
Close to my daughter’s place. It had a kitchen.
The fridge didn’t work and we had to throw out food. There was no bedding for the second bed. The toaster didn’t work. The couch was very old and stained. We placed a blanket on it but the blanket had large holes. The architecture of the building was nice, but nothing has been updated. What they call “charm” I call lack of effort. The kitchen supplies and linens were obviously thrift store finds. There were people sleeping in the “on-site” parking.
The location and the Hotel is very unique
We were so hopeful of a historic experience given the age of this building but unfortunately it in no way lived up to our expectations. Sadly the building and its furnishings have been allowed to deteriorate to a point where it feels more condemned than authentic. The furniture is worn to the point that it has tears in the upholstery and is in need of either replacement or restoration. The flooring (rugs) needs a deep clean as do the kitchen and the bathroom and pretty much all surfaces. The bed needs replacing and the towels need updating so they don’t feel like you are using something that you would use when washing your dog. The place just felt dirty.
With some honest care and appropriate upgrading this could truly be a magnificent old building.
Having said that you cannot change the location.
Being right next to the skytrain was extremely loud but to be fair we knew that when we booked.
The most troubling and heartbreaking thing for us was the unbelievable amount of homeless people at both the front and rear entrances to the property. I know this is in no way the fault of this property but it made for an uncomfortable experience when there was drug paraphernalia laying in front of the doorway. At least have it removed for the health and safety of your customers.
As much as we loved the idea of living in such a historic place we left after 1 night of a 2 night booking and found somewhere else to stay.
Location was convenient for us. Big rooms.
This is a very outdated hotel.Rarely a person in reception. The bathroom was really not ok. Bit dirty and no stopper for the water. Never cleaned the room, never made a bed. Despite telling in advance that the guests are elderly and come for medical reasons (small OP), they were given a very noisy room. Directly by the train.
