Great location. Such helpful staff. 800 year old building - feel the history!
The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable - always there with a smile and willing to help. Really good value as it’s in a great location within walking distance to major sites and a tram stop. However, probs not for anyone with mobility problems as roads quite hilly and uneven. Wear comfy shoes! Room was clean and tidy with a comfy bed and all the basics. Little roof terrace with a great view. This is not a faceless corporate hotel; it’s a beautiful old building positioned in a fairly run down area with little local shops and people going about their daily lives alongside a scattering of other small hotels. Feels very safe to wander the windy streets and sit and enjoy a Turkish coffee or tea and watch the world go by.
Honestly, for the money it should not be faulted. But maybe some Turkish coffee in the morning 🤣 .

Staff, location, view.
Everything was good.
Foarte amabil
Közel van a nevezetességekhez. Tömegközlekedés jó. Sok jó étterem van az utcában
Kissé behallatszik az utca zaja.
The Gedikpasa Konagi Hotel, located near Bayazid Square and a tram station, is situated on Gedikpasa Street with many restaurants. The hotel, set in a 200-year-old historical building, offers nice rooms but no elevator, making it challenging for those with knee issues due to the steep stairs. It is also located on a slope, so you need to go up and down the hill every day. They also have a rooftop terrace that provides sea views for sunrise and sunset enjoyment, and can be used throughout the day.
The breakfast provided was exceptional, featuring a buffet with a wide selection of both savoury and sweet options. The offerings primarily included traditional Turkish breakfast items, such as eggs, salami, mozzarella and feta cheese, three to four varieties of olives, steamed broccoli, fried peppers (both red and green), an assortment of fresh and pickled salads, and more. For those who prefer a sweeter breakfast, options include yoghurt with granola, biscuits, and cake, or bread with jam and honey. A plentiful selection of fruits was also available daily, including apples, oranges, plums, watermelon, and green melon.
While instant coffee was served at breakfast, the tea offered was a high-quality Turkish blend. Complimentary tea bags and instant coffee were available at the reception for use in your room, which was equipped with a kettle, two ceramic cups, and two glass cups.
The staff was very accommodating. The room was clean, with daily cleaning, towel changes every two days, and bedding changes every three days. They also have a safe (vault) in the room, which is very useful. The WI-FI is free and quite fast. Additionally, on two rainy days, we were able to borrow umbrellas from the hotel at no extra charge.
The check-in and check-out were hassle-free.
Nothing.
Everyone is super friendly and helpful and the room was very clean. It’s located in a great area, all the sightseeing spots are just a small walk away. But the rooftop terrace was definitely the highlight. Must be one of the nicest one in Istanbul for sure!
