Overpriced
Pros:

The outside is stunning and the roof top bar, staff friendly and the bed is the comfiest thing ever

Cons:

The breakfast was average, the spa facilities especially downstairs felt outdated and one of the pools filters was thick with grime. I was shocked this was classed as 5 stars more like 4

A great base to explore Buxton
Pros:

Very good accommodation in a great location.

Cons:

You had to pay extra for using the pool ands spa facilities, even though some of main pools was closed off for renovation.

Good room but catering very poor
Pros:

Room was spacious and well appointed. Great shower. No turndown service.

Cons:

On arrival we ordered a sandwich and some fries at 12:10 believing we had plenty of time before a performance we had booked for 2pm. After 40 minutes waiting we had to chase as no sign of our order had been given. The order arrived after 50 minutes but the toast on the sandwiches was cold and unpleasant (we left that) and ingredients listed on the sandwich menu were missing. No sign of apology for lateness or omissions. Complaint was made and eventually credit was given.
We arrived back after our event and got into our room which were good and spacious
Breakfast in the morning was shambolic. We arrived at 9:15am to wait in a queue as tables weren’t being cleared effectively and identifying where to sit residents (we were a 4) was obviously a problem. The buffet wasn’t being replenished so the fruit to accompany yogurt was exhausted as was butter and pastries were short. The ordered main courses arrived promptly and were good. We had breakfast with tables around us remaining uncleared.

Shame the spa facilities are an extra charge of £25 per person. Though they are worth visiting.

Breakfast 9.30.fair queue then wait for coffee. Buffet elements of breakfast low on stock or missing. Cooked food fine Got last croissant but no apricot jam

Exquisite location and room

Cons:

Breakfast took a long to be seated, served and ordered. When the food came it was far from hot. Just warm enough to eat.

A very nice experience. Air conditioning in the room was a huge bonus
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of healthy foods on the buffet counter and an amazing choice of cooked foods to order

The only downside of this hotel is the cost of valet parking during your stay

staff at times rude and appear unhappy unlike when under prev mgt appeared short staffed in restaurant

extra significant charges for use of pool and gym despite being resident £50 per day

charged £30 per night for tiny dog no extras for this such as bowls or dog bed unlike other cheaper hotels

visited many times but this is first time it’s been under champneys

really not value for money and if u are going to charge the price ensure high quality service and additional extras

A bowl of porridge regarded as a cooked breakfast unless additional charge

Enjoyable but could have been amazing if restaurant was better prepared.

The room was great. Breakfast was very good and location perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons:

There was a large water stain on the lounge ceiling above the chandelier. Parking was not available on site. However, staff were helpful in suggesting alternatives. Pre-opera dinner in the restaurant was very slow. Had to wait an hour for the main course which undermined the pre-opera idea. So, had to rush meal and subsequently getting ready for the show.
