After two incredible weeks exploring coastal Karnataka on our South India road trip, my husband and I arrived in Bekal to begin the Kerala leg of our journey. We couldn't have chosen a better place to start than Halifax Inn.
From the moment we checked in, we felt genuinely welcomed. The property is clean, comfortable, and peaceful—exactly what we needed after days on the road. The rooms were well maintained, the staff were warm and attentive, and the overall atmosphere made it easy to relax and recharge.
One of the biggest highlights is the location. It's conveniently close to Bekal's main attractions while still offering a quiet retreat away from the crowds. Whether you're visiting for a short getaway or using Bekal as a base to explore North Kerala, Halifax Inn is an excellent choice.
Our stay was comfortable from start to finish, and it made for the perfect introduction to Kerala. We'd happily stay here again and would recommend Halifax Inn to anyone looking for a clean, welcoming, and well-located place to stay in Bekal.

There was not anything much that I didn't like of the hotel.
Excellent location for those visiting Bekal Fort.
The rooms are very neat and are provided with a TV, Kettle and complimentary tea/coffee sachets.
Comfortable bed.
Bath room is large and provide heat and cold water.
Free Wifi is available.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Though there are couple of restaurants nearby, they are average.

It is ideally situated in a prime location, just a short and pleasant walk away from the stunning ancient Bekal Fort and the serene Bekal Beach. This convenient proximity allows you to easily explore the historic charm of the fort while also enjoying the tranquil beauty of the coastline, making it a perfect spot for both sightseeing and relaxation.

Clean and well-maintained.
We had a great stay at The Halifax Inn. Firoz and the team were welcoming, kind and helpful. Our room was very clean, our bed was very comfortable, the shower was hot and the WiFi worked well- it was just perfect for us. We were able to walk to the amazing Bekal Fort and to beautiful beaches. There were plenty of eating places nearby. Thanks for a great stay.
Felt welcomed from the first minute, Firoz (owner) and the team couldn't do enough for us! Facilities were perfectly clean and to a very high standard. Firoz personally took us to the train station to ensure we got the correct tickets and on the train safely (so many bags). Highly recommended, as its 5 mins walk from Bekal Fort, also!
Property is located just outside the Bekal fort, staff is well trained and cooperative. Rooms were neat and clean with all the basic amenities.
