Emily was very friendly and helpful. The house is set in a quiet street, quite close to central Christchurch, with parkland nearby. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied with cooking utensils. We did not do any cooking ourselves, though.
It is an older style of house, but Emily keeps it very clean and tidy.
We had a wonderful stay at Sunny’s! The host was very friendly, gave us very good tips for Christchurch and we had amazing chats with her!
The room, kitchen and bathroom was clean and the beds were comfortable!
The location is a little bit away from the city but there is a bus 5min away!
just like place
as well hospitality
Very good
Although it is a bit farther from the city center, it is in a quiet neighborhood that is a block from the bus stop making it easy to get anywhere. It is also a block from a huge red zone park popular for walking, running & walking dogs. The host is very friendly. I would stay there again.
The bed was very comfortable but the bunk above was rather low - banged my head more than once.
We spent three days in Emily's house and really enjoyed our time there. Although we arrived late in the evening, she greeted us warmly. We had a lot of nice chats over the next few days. The house was very clean and our room was spacious with a sofa and a very comfortable bed. Since there is only one other room, it was very quiet and the atmosphere was relaxed. We can highly recommend staying with Emily and would stay with her again at any time :)
Everything was great:)
My roommate was nice.
For the price 50$ a night I can expect at least tiny little bit of service and things in the house to actually work. But she didn't clean the rooms, change the bedsheets or emptied out the garbage bins once. The doorknob was very loud, so my roommate woke up every time I opened the door and vice versa. The shower was cold and she didn't attempt to fix any of that. We couldn't lock valuables or even the room. There was no coffee maker even tho it was advertised. Adding to that she wanted to charge me extra, for using the laundry machine.
She doesn't has her own space seperated from the one of her guests, wich is not a good idea, if you have such special expectations of how things are done in the kitchen, like she has. Every time I tried to cook she walked in and invented another delusional rule, like don't cut your vegetables there, dry up the pan with this towel and not with that one and rinse your yoghurt packaging, before you put it in the garbage. She got really mad, when someone was breaking her ''house rules'', as she called them. She was talking to us nonstop, even if we didn't show interest in the conversation, telling us about her boring ass live, or ranting about other guests. A few days before I left, she even installed a camera, facing into the kitchen, so she can monitor who is sticking to the ''house rules''.
The garden doesn't look like in the pictures, because she hung up loads of reflecting stuff, to scare away birds. These things were really loud, when it was windy and it's pretty confusing when there is always light reflected into your eyes thought the windows. She was constantly reminding me, of wich day I had to check out and even threw me out half an hour earlier on said day.
I don't think she got that I was her guest and not some roommate, who is donating her 50$ dollar per day.
The location is great close to city centre, the facilities provided are handy for travelers and the owner is nice always up for a chat.
Everything was great 👍
Private home; use of Kitchen; organised storage of Private food.
With only two to a room I had some concerns about about it being mixed sexes.
The room was clean and tidy, and very quiet. The bed was comfortable, and both the bathroom and kitchen were also clean. The host was very friendly and easy to get along with.
