Zeer fraaie en mooi aangelegde accommodatie met ruime kamers en mooi uitzicht over de rijstvelden!
Pros:

Zeer fraaie en mooi aangelegde accommodatie met ruime kamers en mooi uitzicht over de rijstvelden! Keurig complex met heerlijk zwembad en zeer mooi aangeklede restaurantruimte. Personeel is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam en men doet erg hun best om een top srvice te leveren! De manager nam ons mee op een wandeling in de directe omgeving. Mooie uitvalsbasis om wildpark van Wilpattu te bezoeken...

Cons:

Eigenlijk geen minpunten, want deze lokatie was gewoon heel mooi! Deze ligt aan een doorgaande weg, maar hier heb je geen last van in de kamers of wanneer je bij het zwembad ligt.

It was a great hotel for the price. It wasn’t too far from Wilapattu National park.
Pros:

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was great. We ate there a few times.

Cons:

We had a bit of trouble getting Tuktuks to and from the hotel. The pickme app didn’t seem to work much there. We needed a family room and couldn’t get it and they placed us on two different levels, not next to one another.

Toller Aufenthalt mit gutem Essen und schöner Pool
Pros:

Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, grosser und toller Pool
Abendessen im Restaurant war sehr gut und günstig wie auch das Frühstück :-)
Doppelzimmer waren sehr gross und geräumig.

Cons:

De huisjes op de foto zijn nog niet af. Je slaapt dus niet in de driehoek huizen. Ook waren er veel mieren in de badkamer en de airco kon alleen maar op standje turbo

Det var fint for vores formål til at tager på safari. Vi havde 2 overnatninger på hotellet.
Pros:

Stedet var meget roligt selvom det ligger lige ved hovedvejen. Poolen var lækkert. Værelserne (vores lå på 1. sal) var pænt og rent, sengene bekvem. Maden i restauranten var virkelig lækkert og kæmpe portioner. Personalet er supersøde!

Cons:

Én af hundene gøede hver nat i lang tid

Pros:

We’ve had a wonderful stay at Lavendish.
Rooms were fabulous, food was superb- made to measure dinners. And the staff were just lovely. They made us all feel so welcome and special.

The friendly staff made us feel welcome, with excellent service and local knowledge.
Pros:

The property was well maintained, landscaped, leaves swept away in the morning. The beds were turned over every morning by the very friendly housekeeper on the premises. The young staff were delighted to welcome me and my family, and the check-in process was extremely fast with the help of the property manager Pradeep.

The young lady who was the host for the evening was very polite, grateful and accommodating. She spoke and understood English as she assisted with the menu items for dinner. The two security guards also took the time to connect me with a local, that provided me and the family with a Safari jeep to take us around Wilpathu National Park. I highly recommend this property for families and couples alike.

Cons:

The breakfast was only provided for me and the wife, I had to pay an extra 3,000/= LKR for my 3 kids. Was under the assumption that each room came with breakfast, as this was one of my main factors when traveling with family.

Niet zoals gehoopt, zwembad was fijn .
Pros:

Zwembad.
Het personeel in het hotel was erg lief. Vooral de jongen en het meisje dat in de bediening werkt.

Cons:

De kamers zaten vol met kevers, torren en muggen. Echt vol, dus als je liep vielen ze uit de lucht bovenop je.
Het eten was verschrikkelijk. De eerste dag nog gemaakt door een kok. Daarna was de kok weg en kregen we eten dat echt bij elkaar geraapt was.
De manager probeerde de boel te redden, maar was zo ontzettend druk en overrulde constant het personeel.
Ook werd er gebouwd aan nieuwe kamers, met veel lawaai, zonder dat dit van te voren bekend was.

Ideal place to stay when going on safari
Pros:

Lovely spacious room which looked exactly liked the photos. Amazing balcony view. Only place in Sri Lanka that we’ve had proper hot water. Food in the restaurant was delicious and the pool was great for cooling off after a long safari day. Staff couldn’t do enough to help you. Would recommend if staying in Wilpattu.

Pros:

In May 2026, my spouse and I ended up off-season at a hotel named Lavendish Wild Wilpattu.
This hotel pleasantly surprised us. It began with them offering refreshing drinks. The staff was very friendly, despite our late arrival and booking.
We were amazed by how clean, pleasant, and cozy it was inside. The hotel is near the road, but once inside the courtyard, everything becomes peaceful and well-arranged.
The rooms are vintage-styled but very clean and tidy. The views from the windows are stunning, filled with greenery and aromas.
The pool was warm, clean, with the pH and cleaning time displayed. We spent a lot of time in the pool, even though we stayed only one day.
We loved the breakfast-delicious, varied, and we sat outside, though we could have sat inside. Everything was great, warm, cozy, and the food was tasty, with staff offering anything we asked for. We also had dinner at the hotel and were very pleased with the dishes-tasty drinks, seafood, even fish and chips.
We highly recommend staying here if you are nearby. A wonderful getaway-we truly loved it.

Tainted experience, otherwise nice
Pros:

Beautiful room, clean, nice pool, the people doing the service jobs there like housekeeping and gardening were very nice.

Cons:

Arrived and provided the booking info. The manager (presumably) checked me in and told me breakfast was included.
Aber a lengthy checkin process, probably 20 minutes we were done and I walked away. A few minutes later I came back to ask a question. The manager then said he has to double check and then said actually breakfast is not included. I then had to wait another 10 minutes there for him to remove that service.
Which was a very annoying and awkward experience. I feel like at that point a manager could make the call to just decide to make the breakfast complementary in this case and leave it. To first give a whole overview about breakfast and make the customer look forward to it and then make them stand there and wait until it gets removed again, that's just awkward. Everyone knows that food like this doesn't actually cost a big hotel much money. This experience just didn't seem to do justice to a reputable hotel like this.

Pros:

De kamer zelf was ruim en netjes. Prima uitgangspunt voor een safari in Wilpattu National Park.

Cons:

Helaas weinig restaurants in de buurt dus je bent eigenlijk genoodzaakt om bij het hotel te eten. Helaas was hier elke keer weinig van de kaart beschikbaar. Ook is de locatie nog echt in aanbouw wat goed te zien is buiten de kamers, als je naar het zwembad loopt.

De aller mooiste kamer en lekkerste bedden van heel Sri Lanka. Restaurant was ook super lekker.

Cons:

Behalve Wilpattu is er niet echt wat te doen in de omgeving.
