Great location, staff helpful and polite, breakfast was served hot and was a good standard English breakfast for an inclusive price with the room.
The room smelt like covered up animal urine, the toilet seat was broken, sliding off to the slide. And the bed was very hard and unforgiving.
Lovely location and easy to get to. Lots of parking which is important.
Property looked tired and dated (carpets / wallpaper). Room was very basic for the price charge, cheap plastic trays, dull towels, curtains not blackout so disturbed sleep in the early morning. Curtain hook also hanging off the railing. Bathroom was decent but the sink was so small that the water dripped off the side. No breakfast included in the price I paid, which was £81 for one night for a single room.
1. Very helpful and polite chap on Reception when we arrived.
2. They allow dogs!
3. Lovely view from room over the garden to the river.
4. Very comfortable bed.
5. Excellent breakfast.
Nothing springs to mind!
Such a beautiful setting by the river. Really friendly staff and nice atmosphere.
Beautiful location on the river and a wonderful bar and restaurant to relax and recover from a long day walking. Great nights sleep too!
Beautiful location by the river, good restaurant, large rooms, good breakfast.
Showing its age a bit, but okay for one night.

Room, dinner and breakfast all very good. Perfect location for walking Hadrian's Wall. It was the most expensive accommodation on our walk. The setting was stunning, by a river and a beautiful bridge.
Staff very helpful
A bit strung out
Wonderful location in a fabulous spot right on Hadrians Wall! Good parking facilities. Fantastic bacon sandwiches!!
A bit of a rambling building with lots of stairs up and down - not great for old legs. Can't help that though, can they?
Location
Staff too casual
This is a perfect location when you hike Hadrian's Wall. Bus stop on the other side of the road and plenty of parking if you come by car. Rooms are a little on the small side but that didn't bother us. We had dinner there and enjoyed the food and beer specially after a long day of hiking. The garden is very nice and you have a few of the river and bridge over the River North Tyne. Staff was very friendly and helpful and suitcase pick up from Hadrian's Hall was perfect.
All great and we would stay at George Hotel again.
De man bij de receptie heeft ons erg vriendelijk ontvangen. De bedden waren comfortabel (wel klein, 180cm). We hebben zowel avondeten en ontbijt gegeten en dat was erg lekker.
De bediening bij het diner was erg traag.
Location
Service at the bars and restaurant extremely slow
