It was ok. For £180 a night I would expect slightly better, more modern facilities
Pros:

Great location and beautiful scenery.

Cons:

Room was very dated and hot. Shower didn’t work. They stopped serving food earlier than advertised so we were starving. Could have done with a fan in the room. Generally quite a bit disappointed for the cost of the room.

Lovely location, but hotel neglected and staff not welcoming.
Pros:

The location was great and the beer garden was lovely and shaded.

Cons:

The room was in poor condition and the bathroom was very tiny. Bed uncomfortable but pillows were great. The channel charger batteries had no cover. The stool for dressing table was very tatty. We were told that there would be an EV charger but there wasn’t one. Luckily we had enough charge to get us to the next charger. It could have been difficult for us.

Pros:

The hotel was a lovely building in a beautiful setting. The rooms were basic, clean and comfortable. It had a good bar and breakfast was good too.

Cons:

We gave up waiting for our evening meal and went to an Indian restaurant in Nailsworth.

A relaxing & enjoyable stay in a beautiful location & given a great customer experience
Pros:

A lovely pub which is going through a lot of renovation which incidentally did not hinder our stay & it sits in a beautiful quiet location.

Cons:

Not a negative but our room although nicely decorated & clean it clearly is in need of some updating & probably is on the list of jobs to do but as we weren’t able to see the other rooms it’s hard to make a comparison.

Returned after 50 years to find it was a bit tired.
Pros:

The breakfast was fantastic. The staff were great.

Cons:

The plumbing in the en-suite bathroom was terrible. The water pressure was so low it would have taken an hour to run a decent bath.

Lovely setting but do your checks
Pros:

It's a beautiful building with gorgeous architecture and character. The staff were unobtrusive but kind and helpful.

Cons:

My room was in a cottage at the back with very steep and narrow stairs to my room in the attic. If you have any mobility issues, check where the room is. Those stairs are not for the faint of heart!
My TV only seemed to receive world cup football but no matter. The bed was comfortable and that was what I needed.
Did I say anything to staff to allow for any rectification? No. It would have meant tackling those stairs again...

Disappointing stay, unpleasant management staff, unsafe stairs, no fire exit
Pros:

The staff at breakfast time were very pleasant. One of the bar staff was polite and pleasant to us on arrival.

Cons:

The reception/ manager was surly, unhelpful, and extremely unwelcoming. Our room was at the top of two flights of very steep and narrow stairs, in a cottage at the back of the pub. I thought we would be staying in the pub but we were allocated this room which was entirely unsuitable for two older people and a very elderly assistance dog. The pub was full so we could not move. Moreover, there was no fire exit from this top floor room, only the steep and narrow staircase that were a trouble for us all to get up and down. I thought it unsafe and was very glad to leave.
