A charming traditional Scottish hotel with an excellent restaurant, friendly staff and a perfect central location.
Pros:

We stayed at The Anderson with our group of six friends and enjoyed its authentic Scottish character and excellent location right in the heart of Fortrose. Some of the rooms on the second floor have been renovated, while those on the first floor are more traditional and could benefit from some updating.

The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, and the restaurant was excellent, serving delicious food. Breakfast was good, although it wasn’t our favourite of the trip.

Cons:

The only downsides were the hot water issues for the showers and the noticeable dampness in the first-floor rooms, with dehumidifiers provided and some mould stains visible on the curtains. Despite these points, we had a pleasant stay and appreciated the hotel’s charm and convenient location.

Amazing quirky hotel with a brilliant pub and incredible staff!
Pros:

This is a fun, quirky hotel where the staff will do anything to make your stay fun! The bar and restaurant are amazing and from staying just one night I’d recommend staying in the hotel, enjoying the bar and restaurant and the quirks of the hotel - dvds to borrow in your room, fun artwork and beautiful drinks downstairs!

Cons:

Only thing would be the shower pressure wasn’t amazing!

Lige dele sjusk og charme.
Pros:

Venligt personale. Hyggelig pub. God morgenmad. God restaurant. Værelset hyggeligt indrettet.

Cons:

Der var beskidt i alle hjørner på værelset og i restauranten. Værelset sjusket. Sengen smal og meget blød. Murværket afskallet. Alt var slidt.

Quirky, interesting, different, unusual, and well worth a stay
Pros:

What a gem. Quirky, interesting, different, unusual... much more enjoyable than a bland chain hotel.

The food was great, the hidden "public bar" was outstanding, and the staff were human.

Highly recommended - just ignore the apparent lack of maintenance outside...

Cons:

Jim's dry sense of humour won't suit everyone - but I think that's deliberately so!
