Just about ok for one night.
Pros:

Convenient place for a stopover. The staff were great. The bar was excellent with a friendly atmosphere. Our room was clean with lovely fluffy towels.

Cons:

It is unfortunately very run down and in need of some TLC. Although our room was clean the same can’t be said for the rest of the hotel. The mattress was very old with a huge dip on one side.

Pros:

Don't let the "weathered" exterior put you off. Wonderful hosts, fab features in the interior, excellent food and one of the very best "proper" whisky collections I've encountered in a very long time. And superbly curated by Jim and Laing whose inspiring yet unpretentious guidance delivered a very pleasant tour of Scotland and Kentucky's distilleries!

Lovely cosy atmosphere with friendly staff
Pros:

Lovely cosy atmosphere and great welcome from the staff who were very accommodating and found us a table in the restaurant almost as soon as we arrived, food was delicious as was the beer, room was great and the bed was one of the comfiest we have slept in. Breakfast was delicious and the morning staff were lovely and friendly too, even bringing our dog a sausage to start her day which she loved.. would stay here again without a doubt

Pros:

Very friendly, restaurant was interesting with good food, quirky.

Beds were very uncomfortable (hollowed mattresses), rather cold in the room.

Excellent hotel experience.
Pros:

Quirky friendly place, genial hosts. Great barbecue smoked food, good bar atmosphere.

Cons:

Bedroom in need of updating. Outside of property gave a negative first impression, inside was charming and interesting.

The hotel is dated but you do get an email giving guests warning about this.the staff are great and can’t do enough for
Pros:

The staff are supper friendly, it has a great bar and the food was delicious in the restaurant

Cons:

It’s very dated, from the outside it looks closed. Our room smelled of damp and the carpet was a bit sticky in places, the windows are old with gaps so a bit noisy, not sure the last time they were cleaned

Ich war schon zum zweiten Mal dort und würde beim nächsten Mal auch wieder dort übernachten.
Pros:

Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und sehr zu empfehlen. Alle sind sehr freundlich und man wird sehr herzlich aufgenommen. Gute Ausgangslage für diverse Ausflüge und Touren. Ich würde jederzeit wieder dort hin
