The first night the curtain pole fell down in our room. The receptionist told us that there is nothing that they can do nor can they offer us another room in their hotel or another hotel because all rooms are full. So their solution was to tape our windows with... bin bags. The next day the workman luckily fixed the pole so we could use the curtains again. But the room was not properly cleaned after that, there was a lot of gypsum dust on the floor and furniture which we had to clean ourselves. When I asked if they will compensate the night for us, the manager offered us a voucher for one night but Paris is not a place we visit regularly so we don't have anything to do with that. When I said that I want money compensation, the manager said that they forwarded my request to their Finance Department for review. That was now 1,5 months ago. I have written them several times after that, asking for the solution, but they have not even answered my letters.

Petit déjeuner un peu cher 16 euros de plus une offre est faite à l’issue des réservations définitives pour réserver le petit déjeuner pour 10 euros cette fois …. Les prix qui varient du jour au lendemain + 30% pour une même prestation , réservation de deux chambres identiques au même nom pour deux prix différents…
Very well situated. Just across the street are the taxis. A supermarket nearby. Very helpfull staff and nice breakfast.

Sehr zentrale Lage, 5 Minuten zu Fuß vom Gare du Nord, das Zimmer war erstaunlich ruhig
1) Die Ausstattung war sehr dürftig, es gab nicht einmal Handseife, von Shampoo und Duschgel ganz zu schweigen. 2) Die Temperatur der Klimaanlage ließ sich nicht einstellen, es war viel zu kalt, daher musste ich sie ganz ausmachen. 3) Es gab eine kleine Stufe vor dem Badezimmer, die durch den dunklen Teppich nicht sichtbar war, ich bin mehrmals darüber gestolpert.
The Avalon hotel was so incredibly close to the Gard du Nord, which in itself is very well connected to the rest of Paris, I'm a slow walker and even still it took me around a minute and a half to walk to the station. The room itself was nice and clean, the beds were comfy and the kettle and amenities in our room had a good selection. Our triple room had a balcony which spanned from our bedroom to the bathroom and was big enough to fit all 3 of us. The air conditioning worked well and was very much appreciated in the summer heat!! Breakfast was delicious and well worth pre-booking as it made our lives so much easier (and cheaper) and the 24/7 fresh juice and cold water access was a nice touch. Disabled access is good too as there is a lift to each floor. The staff were so kind and very informative! We arrived around 4 hours before check in and we were able to leave our luggage with them in a dedicated luggage room while we explored. Outside of the hotel there is a decent range of cafes and restaurants, as well as fast food places. We stayed for a few days for the BTS concert at the Stade de France and we had such a wonderful time, we will be back to explore the rest of the city!
As our room faced the road where the traffic lights were, we could hear sirens at all hours of the night, and honking throughout the day, which is no fault of the hotel itself but bare in mind to use the supplied ear plugs when sleeping!
Vriendelijk personeel, vinden het belangrijk om een goede service en/of ervaring te leveren. Bedden liggen heerlijk, fijn om een keertje niet op zo'n heel hard matras te slapen. :-) Het ontbijt was standaard, maar prima om een (actieve) dag mee te beginnen!
De omgeving rond het hotel is wel wat 'grimmig' in de avond, je loopt daar iets minder op je gemak als vrouw zijnde. Het hotel zelf is wel wat gehorig, je hoort namelijk alles van de (boven)buren. Verder ligt het heel centraal, Gare du Nord (station) zit om de hoek!
Location was good
Bathroom was super small and had a really bad smell. There was no ventilation in the bathroom so the smell wouldn’t go away. Was not comfortable to take a shower in or brush your teeth.
A perfect hotel for our trip. The air con was grear.

Your staff are amazing, I encountered 3 or 4 staff at different times at reception, and they were all so very helpful & kind!
The room had a good bed & bathroom. The AC was set to 19C and I couldn't change it. Otherwise very comfortable.
Quite noisy, sound proof between rooms wasn't great, I could hear someone just having a phone conversation.
