Overall nice
Pros:

Very nice hotel, clean and spacious room and the bathroom.
Pros:

I needed one night stay close to Gare Du Nord Station and this was a very nice hotel with a very nice large, clean and beautifully designed room with large bed and air conditioning and the lovely interiors of the room with tea and coffee facilities in the room. The bathroom was very large too with nice towels. I had a very nice sleep and a wonderful breakfast in the morning.

The staff was very nice and polite and charming and helpful at the reception and also in the breakfast room.

I will definitely stay there again and highly recommend this place which is only about 5 mins walking distance from the station.

Tasteful budget hotel, convenient for Eurostar departures
Pros:

Avalon was a great find close to Gare du Nord/ the Eurostar terminal. We tend to book nearby so it's easy to get the first train back to London and this was fabulous. It's a tasteful, budget friendly hotel -- and I hope good reviews don't change that. Most importantly, it had excellent air conditioning during the summer heatwave. It was a godsend to return to after a long day out and about in Paris. Rooms were also a good size (we booked a family room with an additional single bed). The bathroom was pretty tired, but shower pressure was great. Check-in staff were lovely (there was no bar fridge in our room but they stored items for us during the heat).

Cons:

It's a very basic reception/ lobby area, and classic older style building (creaky lift, stairs). Standard for Paris but international visitors might find it off-putting.

Pros:

my room was very old, the furniture was dirty and dusty. the mirror was removed, so it's unusable. there was a strong smell of moisture in bathroom, it does not have good air circulation. located very good if you travel from la gare du nord, there's also many restaurants and groceries around.

Pros:

The location is great because it's very close to Gare du Nord, and even Notre Dame is within walking distance (about a 45 to 60-minute walk). Being so close to the main station makes it incredibly easy to catch the metro around Paris or take a train to other major cities.

Cons:

The rooms are quite tiny, but that is to be expected given the central location right next to the train station. Other than that, it offers great value for the price, and the location is excellent. There really isn't much to complain about, and we had an enjoyable stay.

Pros:

de locatie. Lekker dicht bij Gare du Nord ( 5 minuten lopen) Hoewel ik het jammer vind dat de dichtstbijzijnde halte van de big Bus hier niet wat dichter bij zit. Wij vonden het reizen met de Metro ook een stuk ingewikkelder geworden. Maar ik snap dat het hotel hier niets aan kan doen.

Cons:

Drie jaar geleden ben ik hier ook een paar dagen met mijn vriendin geweest en toen hadden we een veel mooiere, grotere kamer op de vijfde verdieping met een bankje, een balkon en een betere doucheruimte. Nu op de derde. Douchen in bad is niet prettig voor wat oudere mensen. (wij zijn 75 en 76) Maar ik vond het vooral vreemd dat er hier een groot raam in de badkamer naast het toilet zit. Wel met matglas, maar ik vond het toch niet prettig.
