Fantastic staff. Excellent position. Very accommodating. Ardy and his family made everything easy and enjoyable.

Clean and tidy room that faces the forest, with a balcony. Good food. Patrick was a great guide, spotting everything I wanted to see, and more.

Everything was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Birding Cottage. The guided tours in Tangkoko National Park were unforgettable thanks to the very friendly and knowledgeable guide. The food was varied and delicious. I would like to thank the entire team for the lovely time.

Our one-night stay at the Birding Cottage was a wonderful experience in every way. From the hosts’ heartwarming hospitality to the outstanding, freshly prepared meals (we had breakfast, lunch, and dinner), everything was perfect. The room was spacious and air-conditioned. We were also provided with a very knowledgeable guide who was attentive to our needs.

The accommodation was clean and the host was very pleasant. Although we had a public power blackout of the whole town, they did all their best for our stay. Moreover the cooking was fresh and nice. Even the visitation at the Tangkoko national park was perfectly organised and our guide Patrick performed superb while spotting the wild animals.

Very nice option for a Tangkoko stay. Room was very clean, check in was easy, staff was friendly and helped organize tours and airport transportation.

Staying at the Birding Cottage in the rainforest is a special experience, with lush vegetation and unique birds and animals all around. Ardy, the guides, and the rest of the staff are fantastic. The entrance to Tangkoko Nature Reserve is only about 1 km away.

We did two rainforest hikes in Tangkoko, and our excellent guides managed to find crested macaques, spectral tarsiers, Sulawesi bear cuscus, and endemic birds, including Sulawesi hornbills and kingfishers. The guides had high-quality telescopes, including phone attachments, which allowed us to get some great videos and photos.

The open-air dining and lounge area on the property is very spacious and comfortable. We had all our meals onsite rather than going to any restaurants, and the food was excellent. Our cottage was basic but had comfortable beds, a spacious bathroom, and good air conditioning. The front porch of the cottage is elevated and feels like a tree house in the rainforest.

Wir hatten eine richtig tolle Zeit im Tangkoko Birding Cottage. Da wir zum ersten Mal eine Birding Tour gemacht haben, waren wir besonders dankbar für unseren Guide Joakim, er war unglaublich geduldig, wusste extrem viel und hat die Tour spannend und gleichzeitig entspannt gestaltet.

Auch die Unterkunft hat uns super gefallen. Unser Zimmer war groß, sauber, hatte eine Klimaanlage und eine gemütliche kleine Terrasse. Und das Essen war auch ein echtes Highlight. Drei Mahlzeiten am Tag, immer abwechslungsreich und richtig lecker, mit mehreren Gerichten pro Mahlzeit.

Das gesamte Team inklusive des Besitzers war sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit, sodass wir uns rundum wohlgefühlt haben. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und können einen Aufenthalt hier absolut empfehlen.

Alles, die gesamte Anlage ist wunderschön. Man kann super auf den kleinen Balkon entspannen und dabei den schönen Blick in den Tongkoko NP genießen. Das Frühstück und Abendessen wurde jeden Tag frisch von der Eigentümerin zubereitet. Es ist ein familieärer Betrieb und alle sind dort super nett und freundlich. Ausflüge in den Tongkoko NP haben wir direkt über das Hotel gebucht. Es hat alles super geklappt. Auf jeden Fall die Morgen und Abendtour machen. Wir hatten als Guide Patrick der uns super bei beiden Touren durch den NP geführt hat und alles versucht hat uns alles Tiere zu zeigen und hat nebenbei viel über den Park und der dort lebenden Tiere berichtet. Ein super netter und toller Guide. Danke Patrick. Und jederzeit wieder in die Birding Cottage Lodge. Sie ist mehr als 10 Punkte wert. Auch der Transfer von Flughafen hat ohne Probleme über das Hotel geklappt. 🤩🙂👍

Ich hatte eine wundervollen Aufenthalt in dieser direkt im Dschungel an einem Bach gelegenen Unterkunft. Der Tangkoko NP ist ganz nah und die von Ardi vermittelten Touren durch den Nationalpark waren großartig. Die Verpflegung war außerordentlich gut!
Ich komme gern wieder.

I had an incredible time at Tangkoko Birding Cottage. The family was so generous and kind. Moreover, they prepare the most delicious meals.

De mensen zijn zo lief en hebben goed voor ons gezorgd!
We deden 3 tours, de ochtend tour, avond tour en een snorkel tour in de buurt van Lembeh. Alle drie goed georganiseerd, en we hebben veel dieren gezien dankzij gids Junly. Hij had een statief en lens bij zich die we met onze telefoon konden gebruiken om fantastische fotos te maken.
De cottages zijn comfortabel met goede airco, brandschone badkamer en fijne warme douche.
We genoten elke dag van het lekkere en afwisselende eten, op verzoek kookten ze voor ons vegetarisch met veel tempe.
Bedacht voor de fijne tijd!!

It has a really good standard for being in the jungle. Clean and all „properly done“, yet simple.

The cottage is located directly by the entrance to Tangkoko Nationalpark which makes it perfect for tours in there - which can be easily and spontaneously organised with the staff.

Ardy, the owner, is very friendly and helpful with whatever came up.

The food is amazing!! Cooked and served with love and big smiles by Ardy‘s parents. 🥹
