Cafe da Manhã!!!!
Really central Hotel inside the city walls. Good size room & clean. Lovely old building. Breakfast was good with good choice of food. Staff helpful and friendly.
We ate one night in the Restaurant attached (mainly because the weather wasn’t so good). The meal was very expensive and not great. Seafood risotto had only (very small) mussels and no other seafood, also wasn’t hot enough and was inadequately seasoned. Shrimp pasta also was sub standard. Certainly wouldn’t recommend. When we mentioned to the waiter that the food wasn’t good he just said he was sorry but didn’t seem particularly surprised! No more comment was made by him.
Great location. Beautiful suite.
I liked everything
I had a great 4 night stay at Hotel Vardar in May of 2026. The location is perfect, just off the Square of Arms and within the walled city of Kotor - plus, taxis largely drop off passengers at the Seagate (since Kotor is carfree), so it’s only a short 3-4m walk. The hotel itself is in a restored old building, like much of the rest of the city; but the interior is very modern and new, with an elevator, blond woods and gray carpet, plentiful artwork and decorations. I had the base Standard Double Room, which at 250sqft felt very spacious; the room featured built-in closet, desk space, armchair, TV; all of the furniture was done in light blond wood - although it’s a veneer finish, the furnishings didn’t look or feel cheap; as is typical of a European 4-star standard, amenities like toothbrush, shower cap, shoe clothes, shoehorn, slippers were provided in the room; there were also plush bathrobes, that were replaced daily. The ensuite bathroom is quite compact and functional, clad floor to ceiling in what looked like marble panels, and featured Rituals bath products in pumps, which I like. Air conditioning was very strong, which you really need in the Balkans, because it can get quite hot in the daytime. I liked that housekeeping uses this woody fragrance in the rooms and hallway daily, which is a small touch but adds to the elegant ambiance. Daily breakfast was very nice for European standards, including 6 cooked dishes that changed daily (which curiously was served at room temperature, despite them being on buffet servers with reheating ability), various breads, pastries, cold meats/cheeses.
Despite the room description of a “king bed,” the bed is definitely not king-sized (and is rather a queen mattress) - but since I was by myself, this did not bother me; also the curtains were darkening, but not blackout, which may be an issue depending on how late you wish to sleep. Coffee at breakfast was self-serve with this Nespresso branded machine that can make different drinks, but I’m pretty sure uses instant coffee.

Perfect location, couldn’t be better. Helpful person on front desk booked me airport taxi for €25 - some people I met said that they had been charged more than double that.
It’s right opposite a pizza place so the doorway can get blocked by teenagers eating pizza slices. There is a sign but ….
Great value for money, good location
Breakfast buffet could’ve been better.
