Overall, a great stay (and would stay at again) with some minor issues.
Pros:

I stayed in Room 251 a 1-bedroom apartment-style unit overlooking the park across the street, and being on the same side as the main entrance. Beyond the room itself, the stay had a lot going for it: the full kitchen setup with basic cooking utensils, a comfortable bed, and friendly, helpful front desk staff. The apartment-style layout felt more like having an actual home base than a typical hotel room. I was in town for a Barbie Convention at the Hilton Austin and my room at the Placemkr was so much better than a standard room at the Hilton. The location is also a major plus with easy access to downtown and a short walk to Target and Whole Foods. Overall it felt clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for the length of the stay.

Cons:

The fire alarm went off three times during my stay, which was disruptive and, worse, nothing was ever explained: no announcement, no follow-up from staff about what triggered it or reassurance it wouldn't keep happening. That kind of repeated alarm is genuinely unsettling to be woken up and startled by more than once.

The scent in the hallway leading to my room was a minor issue as it was overpowering and nauseating enough that it was unpleasant just to walk to and from my own door.

On top of that, the kitchen sink wouldn't drain. That said, I want to be fair here and say when I called the front desk, they had maintenance up within the hour to fix it. So while the sink itself not working is a legitimate con, the speed and responsiveness of the staff in resolving it was genuinely a pro and worth acknowledging separately from the problem itself.

The location of the hotel was great . I really liked the apartment style . It was great and had a lot of room for my family . Big shout out to Carlos!! He was very nice and he helped us alot during our 4 day stay . Thank you Carlos .
